I'm thinking of getting a Westfield are there any monthly gatherings in the Somerset areas where I can possibly view / have a chat.

Hi.ibought a westfield a year ago . I hired a caterham for a day before I bought the westfield and could not tell the difference between them.i found that for any given spec the caterham would be twice the price( and will still be worth twice as much when you sell it).
I didn't want to travel all over the country to look at old cars, as it would be too time consuming.But that is what I did.there are not that many westfields local to you- unless you are lucky.
All six of the cars I looked at were vastly different specification.you need to know what you want.Tuned engines with a dyno sheet are nice to look at but are not really necessary for a road car.if you blow up a standard ford blacktop it's not expensive to change and mine puts out 174hp on itbs.i think an lsd is vital as the car is so light and it is more predictable over bumps and damp patches.
Whatever you do - buy one. It's the best thing I have ever driven this side of a proper racing kart.insurance is £142 fully comp and I can make any modifications I want to as long as I don't change the capacity or value.just buy one.
