Ford Zetec engine in a Mazda rx8

I hope someone can help me, I am fitting a 1.8 Zetec Black Top into a Mazda rx8 i am having a problem with the operation of the clutch. The engine is out of a Ginetta G20, it has a standard ford flywheel and clutch. I have an adapter plate 3mm thick and a modified rx8 bell housing every thing fits together no problem the gearbox main shaft is the same as the Zetec.
I am using the rx8 clutch slave cylinder the problem is i can’t get the clutch to clear.
I wondered if any member has fitted an rx8 gear box into a Zetec kit car
