I am putting a 2010 cbr1000rr into my kit car and am at the point of thinking of starting up soon however I noticed when in gear the drive cod won't turn when the clutch is down is this right I thought with the clutch down it should free wheel.
The clutch plates are probably stuck together, they can often be released by rocking the car in gear with the clutch Disengaged. BTW windmills and water mills have cogs, sprockets and gears have TEETH ! ( Pedant mode now switched off !)
Sounds a bit fishy. Are you trying to turn the sprocket by hand? Even if the plates aren't totally stuck there will be significant drag if the engine hasn't been run for a long time.
Yeah gonna get the chain on and try and rock it in the next couple of days it has been sat for 6 months and I did change a few bits so worried I have disconnected something clutch related!!
