I'm looking at fitting this set up into my TVR S along with Emerald K6 ecu so not needing the other electrical gubbins

The rear diffin the TVR will have to be changed back as previously fitted a 4.2 in place of the standard 3.6 (will retain the lsd)

I'm I correct in saying both the 5 and 6 speed manual boxes have a 0.75 top ratio?

I already run 17" wheels as smaller won't go over the larger brakes.

All info gratefully received

Reasonably sure it’s a V6. I thought the V8 was a 4.2 (or maybe 4.0).

sorry for the confusion - The original engine in my TVR was a 2.8 V6 Cologne, This had been removed and a 2.9 Cossy V6 fitted along with a MT75 box and a diff ratio change from 3.64 to a 4.2 - car expected to be used for sprints and hillclimbs although never was.

I'm now looking to fit the AJ30 to the TVR and not sure whether the MT75 box will mate to it so will want to fit the Jag S manual gearbox -
will both 5 and 6 speed fit the early engine and what are the ratios?

I think I've heard that Canems ECU people run a BMW rally car with the AJ30.
So might be worth a call to them for some pointers.
Also www.lloydspecialistdevelopments.co.uk (who I believe do a lot of TVR stuff) stock and set up the Canems ECU.

Could also be worth a call

found the thread that mentioned it

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid...

good luck and
let us know how it pans out.
I've been thinking about one of these engines for a while.

I've now purchased a Jag S type 3.0 litre manual car - drove the 175 miles home no problem

Still cannot find the gearbox ratios - will be talking to a gearbox specialist later, so don't know what diff ratio I will need

About to try and sell the V6 Cossy and MT75 box that is still in the TVR so then will HAVE to carry out the conversion.

Shame there is no LSD version of the S-Type diff frown

I did go and check out the TVR with this conversion and there are a number of mods which will need to be done to the chassis

and the likes of the anti-roll bar to be relocated.

What year model? Up to 2002 was Getrag 221 five speed. Easy enough to google for ratios.

Yes it is the Getrag 221 - The only info I get from Goooogle is from the Locost forum where it is stated

First Gear Ratio (:1) 3.25,
Second Gear Ratio (:1) 2.44,
Third Gear Ratio (:1) 1.55,
Fourth Gear Ratio (:1) 1.0,
Fifth Gear Ratio (:1) 0.75

BUT the chap with the TVR already converted says his has a direct 5th not 4th so has a 3.35 diff.

This is the info I need to confirm

I intend to go back to the more common 3.64 (I run a 4.27 at the mo) I also run on 17's with 225/45/17 tyres.

Just been Googling myself, the only other car I can find with this gearbox (and incidentally same engine too) is the Lincoln LS
It's showing as a .75 top gear and 1.00 4th so maybe that's where the other info came from.

I have a complete S type Jag V6 with the jag box attached in my lockup, if you want to do measurements etc your more than welcome to come and crawl over it.

Other than buy the engine and box combined I know little about the jag box's, however I know a lot about the engine and have quite a few of them both complete and in bits.

Worth mentioning the engine has an identical bottom end to a Mondeo, so you can fit a sump from one of them which has the bowl at the gearbox side rather than the front of the engine which might help with your roll bar etc

I that won't work then I actually have access to some titan dry sump kits that use the stock pump for pressure and external scavenge that would give you loads of clearance under the engine... instead of over £1500 i can get these for £500 as new old stock!

Sounds interesting. I have purchased a roadworthy manual SType with only 85k and driven it 200 miles drives nicely. Looking to use Emerald k6 ecu. Do you have any experience of different airbox as the existing looks very big. I'm going to modify the chassis and relocate the anti roll bar for clearance.

I made ITB's and a carbon plenum for mine, but its mid engined so i have a lot of room above the engine.

Rocketeer do a carbon plenum as they have been putting the AJ30 into MX5's for a while.... they also have an ecu with maps for it, personally I have a syvec S8 to run the engine, but I mine is turbocharged to well over 700bhp.
