With an unobtainable phone number and a website that was last updated in 2009. Not sure I'd want to give my money to him, no matter how nice his cars are, if you can't get in touch

I thought the Chesil speedsters were now being produced by Westfield.
A quick search brought up this:

Yep, bought out by Westfield, they have plans for an all electric one.

Ours is still going strong, although not really been driven since November, real shame as we have had great weather for the past 4 weeks and plenty of time on our hands.

Managed to lighten the steering (not powered), took the spare wheel and tool roll out the front 'frunk', together with pumping up the tyres made a difference.

Managed an indicated 90 mph, that's 4,500 rpm on the rev counter in 4th gear, which is as hard (and loud) as you would want to go.

Can't find a choke, so can take dome starting if left for a couple weeks - a new battery helped.

"A Beetle in a "frock" for 20k....."

I don't think you really get the concept of kit cars...........:-)

I'd love one of these as a Sunday car. Utterly beautiful but it was hard enough to justify a beetle with a frock at £20k, let alone what they command now! But I guess its a lot more than the sum of its parts, just look at it! Well done.

Yep ours was the best part of £30k, and when I look at Boxter Spyders now for £35k I think I might have made the wrong choice, (although the Mrs had her heart set on one).

For local pottering around, when the sun is shining and we are not in lockdown, it can't be beaten.

As it becomes harder to drive enthusiastically ...it becomes more important that normal speed journeys become more of an event, and it's here it excels.

Certainly the old Boxsters were nothing to get too excited about, we had a 3.2S , was mint, but never understood the hype. A new one is a different kettle of fish, but I assume just as boring as mine was at anything under 100mph! Sure you made the right decision for a “fun” car and the Chesil will certainly hold its money better.

Update, had a couple of inquiries through Pistonheads and 'speedster' Facebook group, a chap travelled 250 miles to view, an hour looking around it and 10-mile test drive, 5% chip, deposit taken.

18 months on the wife now wants a VW California (Beach ideally not full-blown Camper)

She is now faced with the 'one in one out' rule biggrin (Ad soon to be published on PH awaiting approval)

PS a nice little Video for the non-haters biggrin

Had one back a few years ago and was the most admired car I have ever owned and that included my 2 SPYDERS
As you said CHESIL now WESTFIELD ,the previous owner Peter should never been in sales not nice to deal with ,mine was also a CHESIL but it had the correct bits fitted as was bought as a shell by the original owner an engineer who built it up himself ...356 seats .banjo steering wheel. bee hive lights .umbrella hand brake ( not the usual vw center one ) push button starter .baby moon hubs .original Porsche paint code . red interior ..People asked what the difference was to the original my reply £200k .
I regret selling it now ,they say the VINTAGE SPEEDSTER is the closest to the original Autovero check out the web site start at £34k.
