Apologies if this is the wrong place for this, but my lack of experience in this field has made my research thusfar ineffective.

Does anyone know of any kits based on the MGB GT, or any four seat hard-top kits in general? preferably composite or aluminium based, as rust issues are one of the main reasons I'm looking into this.

Some context: my parents have a Mitsubishi i-MIEV - an electric car with a steel unibody. My father and I are investigating the viability of transplanting the running gear into a kit with a new chassis/subframe, as maintaining the car has become a constant battle with rust potentially threatening the strength of the unibody.

Any thoughts or advice very much appreciated.

You'd really need a custom build with that running gear.

What has an MGB got to do with it?

If this is a first project, you're starting at the top end of difficulty.

If you want a clever bit of engineering with rust free monocoque as a kit, look at a GTM Libra. There's a few cars in various states up for sale.

Not a 4 seater, but the Hawk AC Ace replica uses MGB running gear:-
