Hello there,

I’m building a Pilgrim Sumo and found my Rover V8 engine to have the 4X4 flywheel fitted. Two options are to hunt for a hard to come by, SD1 flywheel (9.5” clutch) or to have the 4X4 (10.5”) flywheel skimmed, new cover plate retaining holes tapped and lightened. Anyone out there selling a SD1 2WD flywheel or recommendation of a machine shop in the Newcastle area to do the machining.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Regards, Kelvin.

Maybe try one of the V8 specialists for an exchange unit?

Try asking on the TVR (Chimaera) forum. Quite a few on there have fitted replacement (lighter) flywheels so could well have an old one under the bench.
