Well.....

With a Friday off work and not much planned I was surprised to be granted a sneak visit to see progress on the Epona model. With the rain beating down on the Libra parked outside I spent an enjoyable time chatting with Gaz, drinking his coffee and casting a beady eye over the small, but perfectly formed model.

I had the forethought to take super-photographer Rosie along with me!

I have to say, although I was really impressed with the original model shown last year at Stoneleigh, the car has definately benefitted from some extra width, which makes it look lower.

Pure Car-porn. If they get it to production, and it looks like that, and handles like i know Aeon can make it handle, then I can see it being a landmark in our industry.

If all goes to plan at my end, I hope to get one of the first one's! Well, after Gaz has the very first one. Although I think I'm going to annoy him and fit the Alfa lump in mine! evil Ferg, you might know me better as DIY Si, from locostbuilders. wink

Yeah, I see you're keen, Si!
I started out yesterday with a quick run out in the Libra over to see Paul (907) and he told me Gaz was in at work with the Epona so I took my daughter over there for a peek.
I'm amazed how the exrat width has affected the whole look of it. For the better, I hasten to add, evn though I loved the thing before hand!!!

Same here! I've not seen the new model in the flesh yet, but I did love the old one. The new pics make it look much sleeker than before and a lot more finished over all.

Rosie took quite a few. Buzz me an e-mail address and you can have them all.

Erm, how do I send you an e-mail address? Never needed to do it before!

Don't worry, figured it out! Didn't notice the button in the profile!

Proportions look nice, and I like it a lot.
Only think that lets it down (Apart from the worlds largest pair of scissors) is the rear screen. The rest of the car looks like pure quality but the rear screen just shouts "80's kit car" at me.
I think it needs the rear shaping so that it can take a curved (In two planes) screen. I little expensive to tool up for initially but well worth the investment once in production....Unless something suitable is already out there to save on the tooling and batch buying.

JMHO.

Very nice kitcar design and picures, and the design has Tvr influence, and do you know when will it be available as a kit? 2008 or 2009 ?

Gaz was talking about a rolling chassis at Detling which is about 3 weeks away.

Saw you in CKC, Mate. Cool! Nice couple of mentions for RO.

And a blurry pic of the chassis

Here's some higher resolution pictures that I took on the set-up day. I'll link to them, rather embedding them though.

I know not everything appeals to everybody, and I'm one of the people that don't like it. At all.
