1) Lotus S2 Exige (Having done the Caterham and Elise thing I found the S2 Exige fantastic)
2) Ginetta / Dare G4. If you can find one! (I have looked but have not found the right G4 as of yet. As of 3x years of searching I have been so close at times, only to be disappointed at the last minute
3) GTM Libra (A few for sale in the manufactures website. I like the Honda engined version which would be a very interesting package)
4) A bit more costly but worth it. Ginetta G50 or Noble
5) There are a nomber of good Cobra's out there, I like the GD or the Dax
6) Lancia Stratos replica
7) TVR T350T (Go for later than 04 plate with the updated engines)
But for kits have a look through this links page http://www.topkits.co.uk/home.html
Mind you I always fancied a Lotus Elan +2 in Yellow with the Spyder chassis conversion with modern running gear (Well set up and adjustable) running a modern 2lt Ford Zetec with 200bhp -230bhp and a six speed box. Wide wheels and flaired arches to give it the Cafe racer style it deserved. The inside would have 4x point harnesses and high backed racing seats.

Thanks for all the replies. sorry my first post should have been clearer. I wouldn't sell the Caterham to buy another seven type car but would consider a car similar to an Elise / Caterham 21 as an alternative. I have previously looked at the SSC Stylus (Is this still available?) and the Fisher Fury. I would be buying second hand due to the depreciation which just about all cars suffer from. As has been noted on another thread the prices of Elises is coming down to affordable levels and although I think the Elise is an axcellent car I am interested at lokking at alternatives from the kit car world.
Thanks and all the best.
Martin.

The 21 would be very exclusive as only 48 were built.
I was also wondering what I could replace my 21 with and a there is nothing which is small, open top, as practical, fast, very pretty, economical to run and exclusive.

I think there are only about 100 SSC Stylus going around... that'd be pretty exclusive. Even if you include the Fury it's hardly mass produced surely?I was also wondering what I could replace my 21 with and a there is nothing which is small, open top, as practical, fast, very pretty, economical to run and exclusive.

Ok i need to paint the bonnet and the wing is strictly for track use only, but there are a lot less than 48 of these and with 200 bhp and weighing 550kgs it's not slow and very pretty(imho)I was also wondering what I could replace my 21 with and a there is nothing which is small, open top, as practical, fast, very pretty, economical to run and exclusive.

I can't understand why they aren't more popular, as it's a pretty little thing and being JP designed it handles well.
