I am not to sure if its coming over because of tax implications. He is going to sell it for me. Phil has come up to bat and put in a new 2.1 stroker. I am not sure on its tune but I assume its going to be conservative for longevity. About 320 bhp. Its good for 380 I guess but I don't want it maxed.
You'll have to let us know how that turns out. I have bought the soft top from Paul at Peninsula Cars, opted not to have the fibre glass support frame and will make up something to suit over the winter.
My car should be back from the painters at the weekend, I have decide to paint it Lotus Storm Titanium, so am looking forward to seeing the end result.

It should be ok! The hardtops for the Minari and the Murtaya are the same. Martin, your top secret targa top is being developed from my old Minari hardtop, so hope they're the same!!
So the hood should work - the soft bits at least. I would guess that the fibreglass frame from the Minari would clash with the Murtaya roll bar, so I guess that's why you didn't want the frame?

The fibreglass frame apparently does work with the Murtaya roll bar, I just don't like the look of it when the hood is down.
I had a simple system on my Ginetta with steel bars that located in the roll bar, you just take them out when you take the hood down.
How hard can it be..... ?

i think adrenaline said minari/murtaya roofs were different but have never compared them to be honest, arden got a nice cheap roof to work on for targ top as dont fancy a soft top
martin
Can't argue about the hardwork ! I know the 2 hard tops are the same so I think it will work out ok
I spent 4 years in Scotland when I did my apprenticeship, I can see why you wouldn't want a soft top LOL.
Off to painter this lunchtime to see real colour on the car, and should have it back on Saturday

I only had a quick look today, it has yet to be buffed....
I am very happy with the colour, can't wait to see it outside in some real light. I was a bit worried about it as I had been set on the Subaru colour for weeks, this was a last minute change and I hadn't seen it on a car!
The guys have done an awesome job of the prep and painting work.

Hmmmm, not sure we're talking about the same frame. The one I have is in three pieces, two that make up a "hoop" at the rear and a bar that goes towards the screen header. To erect the hood, you put the two pieces of the hoop together, raise the hood and attach the catches (held to the hood fabric with on a GRP header rail) to the screen rail and then tension the hood with the bar, which is then locked into place. Not sure why you don't like the look when the hood is down - the frame doesn't (actually can't) stay in place. It's a bit of a faff, but it's ok!I had a simple system on my Ginetta with steel bars that located in the roll bar, you just take them out when you take the hood down.
