The entire side window to the metal frame at the bottom. Also, what type of glue/adhesive to people suggest using?

As a side note, though, I still need some inner window sweep trim, too....I was told that they stopped making the fiesta trim that is used for the Murtaya inner window sweeps (though they still had the outer sweeps?)

ahhh bit more complicated i know arden/adrenaline got most of trim from carbuildersolutions-a uk based website which sells trim adhesive etc but sounds like it needs garage review rather than diy bodge

Hi folks, have searched internet but info seems to be scarce.

What is the wheelbase of the murtaya? Is it standard impreza length or shorter?

Many thanks,

Hiryu

It's shorter than an Impreza; I measured about 95 inches.

Thanks for that. Even shorter than I'm looking for then.

I think it was six inches shorter than an S2000 (were those ever sold in England?).

Anybody still have one of these? I'm curious what people are running for wheel/tire sizes.

I've currently got 17x7.5 5x100 wheels with a 48 offset wrapped in 225/45 tires (I'm using 2004 STi hubs). They can rub against the engine frame if the steering is cranked enough (slow speed turning). The body looks like it could support a lot wider tires under the fender, so I'm wondering if the car might have been designed for a smaller offset (numerical, so the wheels are further out)?

Also, what are people using for spring rates? I recently installed some KW V3 springs for a GC coupe, but the springs still feel a bit stiff (rated at (LBS/Inches) - Front: 340; Rear: 230).

I hope people are still loving their cars--I'm down to the fine tuning now and still loving every drive.

Thanks-
Mike

Hi mike,

I've finally bought one. Followed this thread a few years ago, and intended to buy one then, but the the financial problems of AMS etc. put me off at the time.

I Haven't picked the car up yet as i'm getting a few Jobs done on it first, but should be ready next week. I'll post an update once I've picked it up.

Sorry can't help with your other questions as yet.

Mine has been on the road now for four years, and during that time she's run over 45,000 miles (made all but the first of these images links for people with low bandwidths):

Running the back hills/mountain roads

Got asked to come to a car show:

Checking out the Seattle skyline

Some dyno tuning

We're also working on a coupe version with the second U.S. Murtaya. I wanted to add some vents to the coupe to break up the B-Pillar, but they're almost turning into flying buttresses. Here's an animated (hopefully) image of what she looks like now morphing into what she should look like when she's done:

As far as I know, there are only two Murtayas in the U.S., and these are both of them at the same place (normally they're several thousand miles apart):

I was contacted not too long ago by Mark P; apparently he got Murtaya #3...Which is a bit strange since I have #4 and I thought the only Murtayas built before where two prototypes and the original demo car (which I think has been turned into a track spec car). Maybe somebody else knows? I asked him for permission to post some of his pics on my site (which I still have yet to do), but here are some:

I'm not sure who else might be using theirs; I've heard from a few people who were interested in getting one and tried to direct them as best I could. John Pick said he finally blew the engine on a Scotland hillclimb so they're now going to build a bulletproof bottom end for it.

I found a pretty Murtaya that was being sold a few years ago in France, I think...Not sure if this is Nick's old one? He had a nice dark blue one like this:

Hopefully it went to a nice home? I've also tried to contact Jay up in Canada to see if he still has his...and maybe if he's interested in selling one smile

What is the going rate for one of these now? I always liked them, probably due to my previous Subaru’s. Can you still get body panels etc for them?

I've been contacted by several people in the States who are looking for some Murtayas. Are there any for sale? I've checked the PistonHeads Buy section (and others) and have yet to find some. Jacko, you still looking to sell yours?

I *think* most of the people are looking to build their own, but even if there are already built Murtayas, they might very well be interested in those.

I've also been contacted by people looking for build manuals...Anybody have any they also might be looking to sell?

It's been snowy over here, so...Well, I still can't help but take her out and enjoy her.
