Wooh! Now what's really good about your idea is that it's not just an idea. You're actually building it. WELL DONE and re my comments on the rear suspension being overly complicated.... What could be simpler than taking an already built bike and using that.
I'm really keen to see this continue.

Great encouragement, thank you Qdos.
Project is not progressing as well as I would like because of redundancy and having to take a job in Saudi Arabia.
The prototype will be best compromise by using reasonably prides bits sourced from ebay, this will enable me to gain experience of working with electricity and prove the concept, but also experiment with some of the slightly radical ideas and discard or amend based on testing and merit.
I have a very clear vision of what I want to build and the second car will incorporate the special bits I have acquired.

The other swing arm, the bottom arms will mirror the top loop but slightly longer. The top loop will have two tubes running forward to form the main pivots mounted on the rear chassis. The bottom loop will pick up the rising rate monoshock linkage mounted on the bottom rear of the chassis. This propototyp is in steel, the final version will be aluminium.
I hope Saudi isn't going to be an issue regards making progress on this Martin. It really is looking like a class job you are doing on it. At least you're not going to be shivering in a cold and damp gloomy British workshop. I'd love to see this project in the flesh sometime. I'm sure you're going to be getting a fair few followers of this. I'd also be inclined towards a monocoque on it myself but then I'm more used to GRP and I can tell you have a good background in steel frames
Very tasty hardware there!
Some comments:
Seems that front monoshock gives non-independent suspension.
Wouldn't a single front disc have same issue as power through a non-limited-slip differential?
As for monocoque, are you aware of Nida core?

It's a plastic honeycomb core filth fabric facings on top of which you apply your preferred fabric face sheets.
It can be deformed it into complex curvatures so can be both structure and body.
I intend to use it on the trike I'll build.

Aesthetically I struggle with all that mass ahead of the front wheel centre line, but there is no doubt that these guys have made it work very successfully and the video clips of it on Youtube are pretty awesome.
My weight will be at wheel centre hight and concentrated low down, between and just behind the front wheels and the whole drive train and braking system will be "elegantly" simple, contained in a front subframe unit that can accomodate any configuration of seating, body arrangement and wheel(s)behind it.
With appropriately powered low cost and low maintenance components it might even help foreign aid workers located in regions where there is plenty of sun but no petrol stations, and with battery packs that charge all day and get swapped over at night it might enable access to regions that have been difficult to service historically (dependant on range of course). We can but dream, in the meantime playing with this will provide some fun and teach me about electric motors and solar power??
Cheating, I bought this off ebay so that I could move the project forward whilst working away, I am going to fit an Enertrac dual hub motor and swing arm so that I can get experience of working with electricity, then sell this and build my chassis using the learnings and knowledge acquired....................

Here are a few of my builds from the past. getting ready to build a house so my time with VWs and reverse trikes is limited. I there is anything I can add would love to.
It might get me moving to finish something, get me motivated again.......
