I like the concept and if it were a kitcar , you could even consider a smaller engine and use one of those modern 3 cylinders from a Toyota Yaris, a Daewoo Matiz ( Suzuki Alto engine...) or even consider that of a Micra..

I believe there is a niche in the fun and inexpensive market of theewheelers...smile

It's a bit like a good looking Onyx Bobcat!!

I think this is an under exploited area of the market! Front end, lower arms, loom etc. from a donor car, an adapter for the strut similar to Sylva kit cars to make it double wishbone (come to think of it the new Noble does something similar albeit mid engined) and you have some real cheap fun!

C1/107/Aygo gets my donor vote!!!

Yes, exactly like the Onyx Bobcat !....

I love the idea of using motorcycle enginese in threewheelers and as much as I like the the Guzzi V-twin or a Bmw Boxer or even a Harley, I just wonder how cool a Triumph Speed Triple on a lightweight 3 wheeler would look and ride...but the reverse gear is always the problem and the aftermarket options are pretty expensive....so I guess a car engine is a good option and the lowcost Daewoo Matiz 3 cylinder would fit the bill for a new kit.

Why not something inspired by the Brockwell Trifid ? check these images :

Well how about a FWD set up with a motorbike engine - like the FRS 3, and then a chain drive to the rear wheel for reverse?

That could be a good idea.... I checked the FRS website for info and prices of the kit :

NOBE. Electric 3 wheeler concept. http://jalopnik.com/this-planned-electric-three-wh...

Lots of bits of other cars in the styling but it works for me (Alfa Romeo front, Jensen Interceptor rear)

I like the Design and as you say the styling is inspired by other cars of the 60's and Retro designs do look good on 3wheelers !.... but if it ever becomes a full scale model and makes it to production, I'm certain that it could find it's own niche as an electric vehicle.

Nice find.

True and I agree with you, but as you can see in their rendering they're inspired by various different designs and maybe they did like the front end of Iain Ayre's 3wheeler.

Really like that!

It's not, but it reminds me a little of "Capt America's" home build I followed a number of years ago on one of the forums (2f1r rings a bell?).

I'll see if i can dig it out. I want one as a summer commuter.

It has 2cv front suspension arms. rear suspension arm looks very similar to that on a Blackjack Avion, but I'd like to see how that rear spring is hooked up. Modified 2cv wheels and brakes. Looks to be a 2cv engine/gearbox too running twin carbs, possibly dellortos.

It's an interesting looking take but isn't viable due to its steering and suspension. Peugeot got millions from the EU to try to develop a tilting prototype.

There's no video of it making swift direction changes at speed anywhere (because it would fall over) just a static prototype and some CGI renderings.
