fantastic news after such a long wait, with still some small things to make 'better'
enjoy it and indeed more pictures and or video's would be a plus biggrin

Well,

Got it to the show. Had to trailer it. The gauges were not reading properly. Did drive it onto the show field.

Strange how folk change.... just read trough this old post, looking for some, cough, 5000M info.

6 years later I'm nearing the end of a V8 install in a 3000M, what would TVR_Owner have thought laughlaugh

heightswitch still has the whippets and the same thoughts on TVR values smile

SlowM is still being....slow smile but with changed priorities.

Hi TVRMs
What engine mounts did you use in your 5000M build please? Catfishdb posted a pic of his but they looked awfully solid to me and I plan to use my Taimar as a daily driver and want to keep my fillings. If there is an off-the-shelf candidate I could use, that info would be very useful, as I'm just about to dive into my 302 refresh and will need to stuff it in the chassis when I'm done (hopefully this year)

I'll have a look through my photographs and post something tommorow. There was some custom fabrication, but the actual mount is off the shelf as I recall..

Hopefully I can help. smile

Range Rover / Landrover donut mounts are good and cheap.

That is really useful guys! It looks more straight forward than I had thought, which is one less worry.
When it's finally running I owe you some beer Thank you

The way the engine mounts are fitted is probably the easiest way to do this but they will not take the torque of the engine very well, every time that you go hard on the throttle there will be a lot of stress on these mounts, if you will use them like that you have to fit a torque bar from the engine to the chassis.

Above photos show the way I solved this problem and I think that it is a better way to do it, these mounts will take up the torque quite easy.

Lets see how it works in practice.

An engine moving is fine so long as it has somewhere to move without causing an impact.

If this loads upside down, I won't be surprised.
Best,

You didn’t happen to build a few extra sets of mounts did you?
