Saw a nice silver V reg 3000S near Wantage this afternoon.

Looks as though it was set up for sprints with a roll bar and white rondels on the doors - however it was pointing the wrong way for Shelsley.

Rob (I was on my bike).

After a great Day with Rudy and Nadine more on another thread Rudy has given me permission to put some more pictures up that I took today as I know there are others out there that love seeing the progress and glean ideas for there own projects.
This car is going to be a fantastic example of a 3000s when done Well done Mate you really should be proud of what you have done especially when I know how little spare time you get to work on her.

I thought this idea of the Ariel mounted on the boot through the boot rack was rather a novel approach I had not seen before.

Interesting finishing strip created in stainless between the door card and the door a little finishing touch that really works well but hours of work bending forming and trial fitting you can understand why the factory did not go to these lengths of finish

Nice Battery Box he has made even has a drainage pipe in the side with pipe going down to the road so any water that may manage to get in or leakage from a battery wont damage anything and go straight out.

Having been asked to get some mirrors at the NEC Rudy sent a picture of what he would like I really had ?? as to the style of the American side mirror on The 3000S however IMOP they are really cool rather fancy them myself great Choice Rudy

Also one of the nicest solutions that I have seen to the bonnet stay solution one cable but goes to both sides through two hard plastic brackets mounted on the spare wheel bracket.

The Hood is now on and fitting fantastic Rudy thinks the hood is the original hood and it has cleaned up fantastic and the rear window is in fantastic condition maybe it was not on the car but stored for much of its life but really nice to have that little bit of patina on an item just to remind you when you look at a pristine restoration to remind you that the car is 35years old.

Peter,
Do you know if they provide better rear-ward vision than the bullet type mirror, and are they better quality - as in, will they stay in position for more than a few minutes?

The Bullet one's you adjust the mirror and are s##t. I think you can get these flat or convex. I have not put them on yet so in race conditions not tested.

Just test fitting before going for powder coating

All very neat with extra finishing parts etc is a real credit to you. But I know tvr built cars with the wiring Loom just clipped up with cable ties but un protected wires clipped up to brake lines and fuel lines is for me not good , would look a lot neater in the engine bay with some form of wiring loom covering for both looks but also protection!!! But as I said Its a real credit to you. Richard.

Thanks for the good comment,
My intention is to check if all works fine and then place a new wiringlooom,
as it does not look that bad to change it after restoring,

Nice looking car but isn't the luggage rack on backwards? I though the idea of the stop was to stop the luggage coming forward and damaging the occupants in an accident, not to stop the luggage falling onto the road under wild acceleration!!!!

A friend of mine mentioned, that a dealership around the corner had a 3000S for sale. Will walk my furry boy there, and report.

Purple prototype. Poor paint. Profound price. Pejoratives proliferated.
