Wrong John, biggrin, I meant the one GAjon posted. I would presume yours is even larger as it's on a full on race engine?

We've got some tubular SS manifolds for the Taimar, they are 1.5" OD. Trying to determine if they are just standard copies of the TVR item but in SS or something else. The primaries are certainly not equal length, and the join at the collector looks a bit naff, biggrin.

If you copy the image and paste it onto your PC, you can then zoom in on it for more detail. ( I didn't know you could do that till I just tried it)

I have a source of new 44mm twin choke carbs based on the 44DCNF Weber. The baseplate footprint will fit the 38DGAS manifold which would just need to be opened out to port match. I have had good results with this on the 3.0 litre V8 Triumph Stag engine which was running a 38DGMS but really pulls more strongly with the 44DCNF. So I am sure the 3L Essex should also benefit from more power.

Any updates on Essex V6 tuning ?
I am looking for tuning parts for a MK 1 3 Litre Capri engine build. Circa 230hp is the aim.
Anyone fitted a Holley carb and inlet manifold ?
Neil Brown & Ric Wood have been mentioned to build my engine.

John Wade is about the best there is, beyond that there s Scholar engineering. Personally I would get it bored out and get the crank knife edged and fit John Wade heads. That and a good cam with triple DCNF carbs. Holley wont give you 230hp. You re talking high cost though.

The difference in cost between 190bhp and 230bhp is significant - as is the difference in fuel consumption!

190bhp will make a tidy driveable road car
