Anyone know where I can get some of those exhaust manifolds from? I think its time to swap the Essex engine
These look "home made" but you can get a very narrow set for the MGB conversions, that with a little work will do. I've used a set last winter for a TR4 / RV8 conversion

Hello Arnfried.

you have a super cool looking car. Just one question. Where can I buy that single wiper system? Or is it custom made?

Hi Jan-Erik, thank you for your praising words. You can´t buy a wiper system like this right out of the box. While building up the car I decided for a high quality and strong marine viper motor with only one driver for a single wiper blade which covers an angle of 120°. Since years I watched different solutions of single arm wipers. I took a lot of photos of many cars, often racing cars like Porsche 904 or 917 and other. Even airplanes, trains and ships are using this principle. I bought used parts from Renault Twingo and a BMW C1 motorbike via ebay but could not use these at all – but I learned how it has to work. It was a long way to construct this wiper system for the particular situation at this car. At least I built the main parts 2 or 3 times until it works proper. Thank you for appreciation. Best regards, A.

Hi i'm intrigued by these inlet manifolds. I have a Derrington cylinder head that I want to fit to a 1800cc B series engine with 1 3/4 SU's and I'm looking for inlet manifolds - would these be suitable?

Not unless you're fitting four SU's ... wink

At a guess I'd say they are to fit Webers onto a Ford "Kent" engine?

Hi Nicki, Sad to hear of the passing of your dad Chris. (I remember yourself from back when we chased the factory SEAC around). Today I mention this to Martin Shaw and he send his regards. Can you possibly post details of where and when the funeral is, so that we can forward cards/ attend at a distance...I for my part will post it onto my FB page. Adrian@ (taimarturbo@gmail.com)

Please accept my Sincerest Condolences. Chris was a character and an extremely gifted race car builder and engineer.
His Seacs within the factory are legendary, later the S and then the Historic Griffiths which he built out of David Geralds and later Racesport etc.
A very gifted engineer who could look at a car and tell what was wrong with it and where it needed improving instantly. not withstanding his time before in F1.
Its a very sad day when any TVR Character is lost to us. RIP.

Neil.

I was very surprised to read that Chris Schirle passed away, I saw Chris for the first time in the late eighties at Zandvoort, he was running the yellow Griffith for Ronny Farmer, later that year we were standing next he him in the Zolder paddock and we started talking about the TVR, I was racing a Turner in the same races as the TVR only in a different class.
That winter I visited Chris and he gave me a big lecture about setting up a car and what an idiot I was, as we all probably know he good be very rough, but he helped me that coming season and the lap times were getting better and better, 1991 I won my class in the European Championship thanks to Chris, a couple years after that I moved to Canada and we lost contact.
My condolences to the Schirle family and Chris RIP
