Thank you Neil, yes it was a fabulous car and I have a lot of good memories in these days. Your cars appearance is quite similar if you see it from an front angle. A real beauty as well.
For all who don´t know about the mentioned "Blue 200" I post a photo from an F.I.A. event at Zandvoort in 1999. The 3 Griffith of our team are waiting for scruteneering. The person on the left hand side is Chris Schirle, the "big Boss" of the team, and in the middle you will find Sir Stirling Moss with a friend who joined our team for this event driving Jos Kosters green Griffith 400. The dark red one was Serge van Havres very successful Griffith 400. It was an unforgettable weekend. Regards A.
Hermann the German looking suitably relaxed leaning against some tyres... hehe Lets call him a Character!! He's still dabbling I believe.
Late 90's early 2000's were some of the best Griff racing years and really what spurred me onto building my own car Arnfried. Those cars were very very quick and awesome to watch
The similarity of mine to yours is no accident. Love to know what that colour of yours was?

Arnfried,

Your M is equally beautiful; as much for what's been added, as for what you've deleted from it. I've been collecting pictures of it for several years.

Best,
Bernard.

Neil, it makes me proud that the apparence and colour of your car is no accident. When restoring my Griffith in the early nineties I first experimented with many recipes for car colours. I recognized that all the component colours are not able to reach the blue I wanted to have for the Griffith. Then I found out that the THW, a technical rescue organisation in Germany uses exactly the colour I searched for my car. This particular blue belongs to an industial colour system "RAL". In that case it is RAL 5002 "Ultramarin-Blue".
It is also a theme with the Grantura. I took again a RAL-colour for it, not a car colour. It is RAL 7043 – a socalled "Verkehrsgrau B" what means "traffic-grey B". The funny fact about this colour is, that the backsides of all traffic signs in Germany are painted in RAL 7043 traffic-gray in order to make them "invisible". So I am a bit scary that the Grantura will be "invisable" in the traffic. Regards, A.

Thats a spooky coincidence.
The colour I ended up with for mine was a custom mix and is known as Ultramarine Blue Pearl metallic.. I won't part with the formulation though since Prideaux tends to copy hehe

You should post a few pictures of yours racing arnfried..I have only ever seen a few of it in print and one on the back of your trailer.

Hi Bernard, I am really surprised that you know my M. I have no idea who has taken this photo but I remember, where it was. It was a situation when I lent the TVR M to my garage owner and his wife while I drove another car for that trip. Find here some further pics, one with 2 beauties and one which shows it´s inner qualities. Regards, A.

Hello Arnfried,
long heard nothing from you.
Nice to see ,that your Grantura is now finished and on the road again. I think we both have the only two road registered MK3 in germany?

Hi Toni, I see that you obviously won the fight with the washer jets and sun visors to get the car registered? Recently someone north from Hamburg sold a Grantura Mk 3 but I do not know what happens to that car. I guess there are maybe three or four Mk 3´s in Germany on the road. Your´s looking great. Everything seems to be original? Please phone me up if you come to Hamburg again. Beste Grüsse, Arnfried

Indeed, that looks a bit strange. Does the wipers work like a butterfly principle, Tony?

I loved your Blue 200. was one of the nicest Griffs ever to have raced.

Neil.
This thread is a good opportunity to clear something about my former Griffith: the wrong chassis number in the book "The Griffith Years" causes a lot of confusion in the past. The correct number is 200 5 091. And – by the way – the holder of the rights for the photo is not the "The Griffith Car Club".
Regards, A.
