Yes Minilites are powdrer coated, I actually made the extra long wheel nut used for a template. The wheel arches are extended front and rear, slitting and extending as shown.
Thanks. I've seen a similar solution to extending the arches done on Lotus Europas which seems to do the trick.Spotted this one-owner-from-new 3000m in Canada a few years ago. The owner was a massive TVR enthusiast - he produced a photo album which he had to hand showing him outside the showroom when he bought the car back in the 70s - the photos showed him attired in some pretty impressive flared trousers!

Does you friend recall anymore detail on the Mk2.
Rob
I'll ask him but it looks like it might be a twin cam.Rob
He will probably tell me the name and address where he bought it, how much, the mileage, tyre tread depth etc.
Yes it was a twin cam with twin 40's
He bought it off his employers son on a weekly deduction from his wages.
Will hopefully meet up and get more info to post more details soon as I'm off to France for 4/6 weeks on Friday.
Thank - you I think it was Charlie Harrison's race car, he won the Scottish Speed Championship in 1960, but at that time it had a standard MGA 1588cc engine. I have a photo of Charlie in the car racing against Jim Clark in a 'formula libre' event at Charterhall. Its not my copyright so I can't post here.
I think Charlie sold the Grantura in 1961 to purchase a Lotus Elite. I guess your friend owned it early 60's when the engine had been replaced.
I wonder if it is still in the Newcastle area.
