The chap I bought my 2500 from five years ago had WFD 400H at the time and said it would soon be for sale. It was unpainted at the time and in bits. It's great to see the progress on this and I think the colour suits it well. I hope you will continue to post photos as the restoration continues. Good luck with it all.

Hi Chris, was it the old guy from Liverpool? It's been off the road since 1981 I bought it from a guy in Wakefield he had it for two years and not touched it , found out later he sold the bumpers on eBay . He told me car didn't have any , he obviously knew what they bring , there is a few posts on piston heads about its history with previous owners , if you put the reg in it should come up , if your interested.the coulor is the original marigold orange , I used to own a Tuscan in the late seventies and always regretted selling it . Will keep posting Picts as it progresses thanks for your interest regards keith.

Was WFD400H originally a Tuscan, and what was the reg of your previous one?

Hi Keith,
Yes, it was the guy from Formby near Liverpool. From what I heard a few years back, he was highly regarded and the work he did on his cars was of a high standard. I hope you have a good basis for reliving your Tuscan days. I did a search on the reg which revealed some interesting background to the car. Shame the bumpers were sold though. Thanks for the extra pic. The petrol tank looks new!
Cheers,
Chris

Yes apparently the guy and is son had already renovated two other cars , iwas told the reason he never finished mine was his wife died . I did speak to him just after I got the car and he gave me a bit of info . But most of the history is down to David Llewellyn who used to own it he now runs an imp sport garage. I had to buy some bumpers which I'm sure you know are hard to get .Andy gray was kind enough to sell me a spare set of his for a reasonable price., Most the new parts I got with the car ,the original tank has a pin hole in it, but the tank you see in the Picts came with the car and is nice and solid , the guy new what he was doing right down to the clutch cable conversion for the V6 engine , he reckons the engine came out of his mates kit car and has different cams , it does run nice , sounds nice I put a stainless exhaust system on it, my next job is fitting the new head cloth I had made , must say I'm not looking forward to it , all the work I've done so far as been mechanical which being a mechanic since I was 15 is no problem, the car should be better than my old Tuscan with the Colone engine plus the five speed box and limited slip differential , will keep updating as I do things regards keith.

Ha, yes the headlining. The trick is lots of patience, very strong contact adhesive and many many bulldog clips to hold it still while you manipulate it. Also I was told you should get a box of gloves and wear them, every time you get adhesive on your fingers change the gloves because if you get it on the head lining it makes a dreadful mess.

I was asking on the thread below this about the way the rear deck is supported at the back. You seem to have some sort of pole arrangement supported at the ends. Is this how your car came to you? COUld you explain how it works?

Hi there was no rear support in mine , it had a peice of wood to support the front of the spare wheel cover , so I got a peice of pipe , cut to size between rear light inner bolts put two p clips round the bar and bolted it to the rear light inner bolts , then fibre glass matter it to rear panel in centre , it also acts as a wireing tunnel which is tider than having cables laid across the boot floor. Hope this makes sense , and helps you.
