Hi there was no rear support in mine , it had a peice of wood to support the front of the spare wheel cover , so I got a peice of pipe , cut to size between rear light inner bolts put two p clips round the bar and bolted it to the rear light inner bolts , then fibre glass matter it to rear panel in centre , it also acts as a wireing tunnel which is tider than having cables laid across the boot floor. Hope this makes sense , and helps you.
Thanks very much that explains it very well.

Hi wish I could remember reg or had a picture, but wasn't bothered about Picts in them days, I lived in Darlington county Durham at the time, but worked in a garage in Stockton on tees,I sold it in Stockton , took a mk3 Cortina gt in part exchange , at the same time I had a 1959 tvr grand tourer with the BMC b series engine in .but never got that on the road , the things we let go. Just remembered someone told me later that the guy who bought the Tuscan had it painted in a mustard coulor ,

Forgot to mention mine was a mk2 Tuscan with fabric sunroof , so I might be wrong saying it was a j reg, ? Looking on the Tuscan list there doesn't seem a lot of cars with fabric roofs
