2 1/2 years to source some door seals!! Bloody hell I hope all the other parts for the car are not missing
I can see it being like the film scanners when you try to source the ally sill top finishers!!

Haha my car is complete, I even have the door seals. they are just weathered, i'm not missing anything but door seals are hard to restore, everything else can be. I will find these one day it will be some odd ball place. Heck the Wire Grill mesh for a 1985 TVR280i is raingutter material that you can pick up from Home Depot. It's the same exact stuff, found it in my grandfathers garage, matched it to my TVR, then went to home depot. Viola there it was. I can see it being like the film scanners when you try to source the ally sill top finishers!!

Whats more important is you enjoy using and driving your car some pictures of it out on the road where it belongs would be nice

I have 2 sets of kick plates. Right now the car is in storage, I learned my lesson in tearing a car apart without a garage. Getting a new home soon with a garage then I'll tear into it. Just have to prioritize doing the Griffith, The Vixen, the Hybrid or the S2 racecar first. Too many projects so right now i'm just in collection mode
Speaking of which, I picked up a Lexan Rear Screen from Steve Feron if anyone is in need of it for a Vixen.

Just wanted to give everyone update here.
I have just validated through John Wadman of TVR North America that these seals came on the Vixen, Not necessarily all of them but they were in fact on these cars when they received them.
John does not have a source for them, but the moment I started explaining what the seal looked like he knew exactly what I was talking about.

Sorry to intrude on your Vixen thread with a Chimaera related thing, but I simply cannot see how to start a new thread.
It is to do with door seals however. Having replaced the door aperrure seal on my Chimaera after the roof panel had ragged it, using a piece from the TVR shop, it started to rain in. Fairly evidently, the issue was that wet was tracking down the face of the seal by the window frame section, then creeping over to the wrong side of the seal, running down and exiting into the car once it got to the horizontal section by the treadplate.
First issue I spotted was a step in the door, where the window frame gets to the top of the door. Temporarily filled this with some Blu tack to smoooth out the profile for the seal. This reduced, but ddn't completely eliminate the issue. Looking to slightly increase the pressure on the face of the seal, I fed in some soft (roundabout 6mm I think) plastic tubing -- got it from an aquatics shop ---- into the hollow profile of the seal. This appears to have sorted the issue without any negative impact on the force required to close the door.
