I forgot this one, MWE71K. My mate warren resprayed it black with grey sills, but he had sold it by the time I met him and I only saw it once or twice. This was taken in June 1986. I have seen a photo of it since, about 20 years ago and it had changed colour again, think it was red.

Oliver.
Hi Oliver, I just stumbled across this. I owned this car, 2500 MWE 71K. I drove it to that event (at Townley Hall, Burnley. 1986) where the photo was taken. I think I purchased it from your friend Warren. I reluctantly sold it in around March 1987 after a massive mountaineering accident and couldn't drive for a year.

Hi David,

Yes I remember you and the car well, and how sorry you were to have to sell it. I have a recollection of seeing a photo of it 15-20 years ago and it was red, but can't remember where or when I saw it. I haven't seen Warren for quite a number of years now, (I moved to Southampton almost 5 years ago) but believe he still has the blue/silver Taimar he replaced the 2500 with.

I still miss my orange Vixen which I sold in 1990, the Taimar was never as much fun but my 3000S turbo replica is fantastic!

Oliver.

This lovely yellow 2500 was at the Pre 80s event in 2017.

If anyone on here own the car or knows the owner please get in touch. It would be great to get some details

Many thanks to Oliver for the fabulous photo.

Time for a few updates:

The colour of FRE 878K was previously unknown. It is now known to have been blue.

This Netherlands based racer is now know to have been registered in the UK as HYC 749K. Details still exist on the DVLA site.

Finally, a 'new' one has appeared. The reg is RTW 790K. This is listed on the DVLA site as orange and is taxed and MOT'd. Does anyone know of the car or have any further details or photos please?

With thanks to whoever took the photo and to Marshall.

Hi Chris, not sure if my old car is on your radar.I bought the car off Simon Pilkinton in the early 80,s it was in the factory for repairs ( see my recent post on International Grantura Face Book page) deemed a uneconomical repair. It turned out a show stopper, complete with a full tan Taimar interior.Registation MHG 194P then VTL 11 chassis no 3371TM.I think it was originally Metallic Silver then Bronze and after my restoration Ford Aubergine.I came across the car on Pistonheads in a very sad state (that was probably 2010 to 2013 ) a garage in Scotland had it up for grabs.I believe Rene Christensen from France took on the restoration.I have been in touch with him but unfortunately have lost his contact details

Hi Baz,

Thanks for the details. I'd originally intended to make a list of the right hand drive Vixen bodied 2500s. Some 2500M details have been posted though. There weren't many of these made and they are still of interest to me. If the original search ever comes to an end, perhaps I'll start on the Ms.

Sorry for any confusion.

Photos of this car were found somewhere on the web several years ago. The car remained unidentified for quite a while though.

The photos below seem to be of the same car.

The dash is quite distinctive and looks identical in both sets of photos. Other details also match. For now, I'll assume the photos are of the same car, unless anyone knows differently.

The white race/sprint prepared 2500 GME 86J has been know of for a while thanks to Roy C. I've just found a link to quite a detailed article on the car, which may be of interest.

This characterful photo of JLO 299K was found on Facebook a few years ago.

Here's a more up to date photo found on the web recently.

In the last few months, with help from both the TVRCC UK and North America, quite a few previously unknown of 2500s have come to light.

BDT 473J - Silver
SBK 349J - Blue
OBP 105J - Orange
GKA 586 - Silver
AX-32600 - Red with Ford 289
GMH 9J - Red
CAO 315K - Red
DAO 666K - originally Silver, then Blue, converted to Tuscan V6 by the factory
HLU 48K - originally Yellow, then Red
PEV 550K - originally Silver, then Brown

Many thanks to Mervyn, Marshall and whoever took the photos.

Chris

Yes, it would be nice to know what happened to this car. Maybe it was exported.
