Andrew Gray - MAL013 is for sale at auction via Moss Green in Australia do you know any history for the car.

Rob
Rob where did the seller say that it was MAL13 as that would not link up with MAL01 being a full wide bodied car and that being a long time after 1967 by several years then this being a 67 registered car it does not add up.
MAL13 was in Holland a Number of years ago

Found them! A bit too pooped to post all 10-12 pics and will later, but is mostly like mine. Wood burl dash, no quarterlights, still had all smog equipment on it. Very nice tire cover in back and vanity mirror in passenger visor.. Different bonnet and I'll relate the story I was told on that later..

The auctioneer sent a collection of photos including a photo of the chassis plate which shows MAL 013 but no engine number. You probably need to see the original registration documents to see if this is accurate / original.

EdIt - MAL cars are not really my area of interest but wouldn't a 67 car have a LW chassis number.

Correct Rob so either the year is wrong or the Chassis plate is wrong still a very nice car for someone to enjoy regardless

I think MAL 013 was the one imported from the states by Martin Cliffe in the late 80's or early 90's, it was l/h drive ,Blue and he raced it in the HSCC Novice or standard championships

Well spotted Richard! This is the first page of the article that appeared about this car in "Supercar Classics" in March 1989, when Martin Cliffe imported the car from the USA. The bottom paragraph of the left hand column says it is MAL013, ordered in Nov 1966 and delivered in February 1967. It had never occurred to me that if the Lilleys took over in Nov 1966 they couldn't have started sending cars out with MAL chassis numbers immediately.

At this point the car was silver, Cliffe resprayed it blue and won the HSCC Novices series in it in 1989, see "Supercar Classics" January 1990. He sold it later, and it was owned by a chap in South Yorkshire called Tim Bryan, I seem to think it was a swap for a Griffith TB had. After that it must have gone abroad.

Not sure what this answers, there seem to be more questions than answers...

That first scan wasn't too readable so here it is again, plus a table of his costs for those who want a time machine.

Here it is in Tim Bryan's ownership, at a classic car show in Rotherham in June 1992 - proof that the sun shines even in Rotherham!

Just realised that I was 1 year out in my first posting above, the Lilleys took over in Nov 1965, not 1966. But I still doubt they had any MAL cars for sale in late 1966.

And certainly no LWB cars.....The blue car if imported would have been given an age related plate, and being H it is '69/70, which seems right.

Here's a photo of photo I took at Snetterton, I remember taking to Martyn after his race I think he said he imported the car from the Chicago area. From memory he won his race quite easily as the Elans couldn't keep up on the straights.

Apart from the novice race it took part in the last race of the day which included Gerry Marshall in a Griffith, I have photos but as it was getting dark the quality is too poor to post.

Sorry for the poor pics, when I went to see it, there was a lone 25 watt bulb dangling above and I had no flash.. MAL006 (MAL013 can't be a 67, or its not MAL013?)
BTW... the oil filter mount on the pedal box was/is just like mine.. must have been a thing at TVR cars USA

Bill,

Good photos of MAL 006 the dash looks very similar to the dash on our LWB car.

I guess if anyone is interested in MAL 013 they should speak to Martin Cliffe at Omnicron (Lancia specialists).
