Well i just did 230 miles with the car club in the centre of Brittany fantastic.
Someone in the club driving a Jaguar XK140 Coupe said he thought the lines of my 3000S were fantastic and he loved them.
Then he asked the question WHO DESIGNED THE 3000S or M series and i don't know.
Did TVR use a special designer.
Sorry to ask such a silly question.
Alan
ps. I've just done my homework and now know that Martin Lilley designed the "M" series.

I thought the M’s were more of an evolution rather than a new design.
The exception being the chassis which I believe was Mike Bigland design specific for the M, although again probably more of a progression than a clean sheet process.

o.k. i see what you mean an evolution.
It was the Wedge when they used an external freelance designer Oliver Winterbotom

Does anybody know where I can find new side-screen wind up mechanisms for TVR 3000M? mine are totaly used, have to push up my windows on the glass by hand and have to do the same in reverse to pull them down :-) ...

I think Adrian does exchange units.

It’s worth changing all the felt seals at the same time, when worn they drag on the glass leading to extra stress on the winder mechanism.

I think that could be a different topic.
I understand to can fit the left to the right and the right to the left. Thereby using unworn parts

It’s not quite as straightforward as changing from one side to another.
The quadrant cog rivets can be drilled out, the quadrants flipped around and refitted so you get unused cog teeth on the drive, but, on mine the drive cogs had chewed up also.

The drive cogs are non weldable material so I had new stainless ones profiled.

It would have been easier to get replacements from Adrian.

I believe that Oliver Winterbottom helped with much of the design of the 3000S, while he was also at TVR developing the Tasmin. So Martin for the front half and OW to put Martin's ideas into reality from the windscreen back. The cut out door tops and the kick over the arches really are wonderful.

Oliver.

I was just reading one of my TVR books and they say Jenson did some developement on the 3000S. That's why the Screen is Jenson Healey.

Took a pair of mechanisms from the rear doors of a 4-door Austin 1100 many years ago, identical apart from the lump of angle-iron TVR used to extend the arm! So Adrian is your best bet! Geoff
