Good spot. The bearings in the picture are Timken which are the same as the OEM ones on mine which I replaced with the other crap when I did the brake up-grade. However the ones in the picture hve different number to my old OEM ones which are Y-32008XZ. I'll call TVR Parts first think tomorrow and, so long as they are the correct Timken bearings, then it's job done 
I used Castrol LM last time. What's the alternative?
When I was in the motor factors yesterday Phil behind the counter was telling a customer that it was good practice to lubricate the threads on the plugs he'd just bought with copper-slip or similar. The customer said "I'll use some Vaseline". Phil didn't reply, and I went to look at something on a shelf.

Vaseline is good, Joe. It's one of my favourite lubricants. My wife and I used to use Vaseline a lot whenever we fancied a bit of how'syerfather.
We used to apply it to the bedroom outer doorknob to stop the kids coming in.
Make sure you work the grease well in to all the crevices this time.

They've arrived. "Made in India". We all know what happened last time TVR relied on components made in India.
Are Indian SKF going to be as good as European made SKF? Once upon-a-time Swedish made SKF bearings were a benchmark for quality and among the best you could get. Can we rely on that now with global production? No other choice I suppose.

It really depends on the quality control of those factories. The industry in which I work relies heavily on stuff made in China under license and even the OEMs now have factories in China.
Those who have decent quality systems in place will produce a product just as good as one made in Europe. Those that don’t, don’t and they produce the @@@@ that is responsible for the reputation that “made in China” has. I expect the same Quality variation will apply in India depending on well SKF run their operation there.

If the Chinese are making something they wish to sell to fit a market need they will balance quality against cost and repercussions of failure.
If a large company like SKF are getting parts made in China then they will have the specification tied right down as they would not put at risk their history of quality.
Many years ago a company I worked for sent a team out to China to asses a printed circuit board manufacturer with a view to putting work to them. They were a little taken aback to find the hand soldering operations were being done using gas heated soldering irons but at the same time could not fault the finished product.
