Does someone know where the LOCKING door handles come from on a 3000m PASSENGER SIDE.
I get a bit tired of stretching across to lock or unlock from the inside.
Surely for export cars there were locking handles on the left door.

My 3000S has the key on both sides, same as the Ford Capri which of course was 2 door. I presume yours must be a Cortina rear passenger door on your M.

Hi Nige,
on my 3000m the driver's door handle has the Key hole in the round button. On passenger side no Key hole. This was the same on my 1600m which i sold. On the "M"s it is a different handle than used on 3000s or Taimar cars.
Maybe the "M"s it is ford cortina

Mine are Cortina Mk1 handles.
It’s not something I’ve done, but surely it must be possible to just change out the push button from a blank one to a keyed one using the same handle.

Perhaps??

Early M series door handles were Mk2 Cortina, the push buttons can be changed to locking type, held in by a circlip once the outer handle is removed

Sorry assumed, wrongly, that they would be the same as the S and Taimar, I should have checked. As Colin says they're easy enough to change if you can find one.
