Hi - silicone sealant works well in my experience and hasn't damaged the badge when taken off for wheel balancing etc

Cheers

Found some aluminium door handle surrounds that fitted the wheel centres perfectly, glued badges to them, now just push-fit

Sounds like a great idea. Any chance of a photo - not quite sure what door handle surrounds these are.

I recently took the Vixen to a tyre fitter for the wheels to be balanced (off-car) and when he handed the keys back to me he included the 4 wheel centres. Mine are just glued in and I hadn't considered that they would need to be removed whilst balancing. Just as well he was on the ball otherwise I may not have spotted it.

Nice.
Shame TVR Parts don’t do just a glue on OE roundel though.

These Vixen wheel centre caps are readily available on Ebay and are very close in appearance to the originals. I bought these as spares and have mounted on thin stainless steel discs (also off Ebay) to give them a bit more thickness. They are a perfect fit to fully cover the wheel centre. Using silicone to fix in place means they are easy to remove without causing any damage to wheel paint.

I think they were too small as only up to 60mm. These are about the right size and much cheaper?

I bought mine a couple of years ago. I just checked you're right I just measured mine and they are 70mm. I also offered up to my spare wheel to be certain and 70mm is spot on - right to the edge of the wheel centre.

Given the great price, I've ordered another set of the ones you found!

Hi - I have now looked on my Ebay purchase history (should have done that earlier!) and it was the same seller/price as the one you've found - 'domelad'. So all good. I see the metal discs I ordered were aluminium 70mm x 1.5mm.

A small investment for a nice finish to the alloys.

As I said in my earlier post, I glued metal discs to the rear of the gel badges as the gel badge is quite thin and flexes. The metal disc just gives some thickness and rigidity. The original wheel badges which I still have on my car are hard plastic and quite thick compared to the gel alternative.

Hope that helps.
