When restored a 3000M will be above the price of a Cooper S and a lot rarer - if this was a barn find Cooper S auction it would have gone for crazy money.

It went for what it was worth to the buyer, he’ll enjoy restoring it I’m sure.

Suggesting what may be a reasonable price for an object is not the same as stating an objects worth. judge

What is reasonable to a seller can be different to what is reasonable to a buyer. Worth is worth.

Glad buyer and seller got what they wanted smile

Agree wholeheartedly with your last statement though. thumbup ...without that, there is no sale, and another car is probably lost.

That depends what Cooper S, the first was 1071cc and not many made for just over one year or a 970cc not many made also. Imho the 1275cc was crap and had a bad habit of knocking the Big Ends out.

Fewer 3000Ms were built than any Cooper, and 1275’s knocking big ends is in the same box as 40DFAV’s causing bore washing or TR6 fuel injection being faulty - yes it happened but not a fault to consider as part of ownership.
