I was advertising this car for a friend when I was alerted by someone on Ebay that it was stolen.
The original owner has been traced (owned the car for 32 years) and is coming to collect it.

Nice to have a happy ending.

To be fair to your friend, when I search the reg it doesn’t come up as stolen on search so could easily have been an honest mistake. Hope not too much money has been lost along the way.

Woke up this morning to a load of emails from people who spotted the car for sale on ebay, as well as the current 'owner'.

The 'owner' rang and is happy to trailer it to wherever needed.

That's great news. Also to know that the PH community is alive and kicking. You must feel like Christmas has come early.

When stolen goods have been sold a few times, the paper trail is impossible to follow. No paperwork was given from the vendor as he didn't know it was stolen either. To be honest, the car was incomplete and was not worth much as it was because we had no history, it was just an old Barn find?
Thankfully the current 'owner' got his money returned and the real owner gets his pride and joy back.

Someone has to take a hit but it was not at our end. I had 1400 people look at the advert before I took it down, less than 12 hours on Ebay!

I look forward to seeing it back on track and in a safe storage facility when not used.
