Hi,need to adjust bonnet on my Taimar to give better even gaps around scuttle .How and what adjustments can be made.Believe Adrian has a write up ,but cannot find link ? Thanks dave

It's hardly "rocket science" !

Lok at the hinges and and it should be self explanatory what you adjust to go up/down and forward/back?

You will never get it to fit like a modern car.
They are all like that and not the same both sides.
Grp classics are like that have a look at a Lotus Elan and the way the Doors kick out. I know i've got a Sprint.

Don‘t forget that if you move the bonnet backwards, you‘ll need to reposition the locating pins on the back edge of the bonnet

If the Taimar bonnet is as per the Vixen, loosening the 2 bolts mounting the bonnet frame to the chassis will allow it to slide forward & backward by an inch or so. The locknuts on the bonnet frame allow the bonnet to be raised or lowered. Each side can be done individually.

However as already said, these never fit very well when new so you may be disappointed in how good you can get it.

If you manage to adjust so it doesn't fly open when driving you're not doing toooo bad 🙂

Hi ,thanks all for the info .Drivers side fits well ,nearside not so good .Tried adjusting by winding down thread on nearside but not made a lot of difference presume sat ontop of wheel arch fabrication - would need to lower this ??
