Anyone recommend a company that they have used to have a custom exhaust made for a Vixen. I''m getting fed up with My original pattern one hitting the ever increasing number of speed humps. I''ve heard of a few companies like ''Mike the Pipe'', but wondered if anyones got any experience of them? Cheers Matt

You could try Hayward & Scott in Basildon. Tell them I had the first Zertec-designed Chimaera exhaust and that I sent you... -Manek-

A pal had a custom exhaust for his competition Clan made by Mike the Pipe and it's a very good job. Nice neat installation and quiet. Problem is they really need to have the car on site so if you're not from the South East it could end up expensive. My Vixen exhaust was made by a local exhaust shop (Worcester area) who (luckily!) had a fitter who used to rally Escorts. He knew exactly what to put underneath. They also had facilities to bend/expand/shrink tube so I ended up with a BMW middle box (expensive but very flat so good ground clearance) and a small 'cherry bomb' type rear box just under the diff. Ground clearance not too bad (christened it two up with a full tank on the way to the pub!). Sounds OK and so far no problem with scrutineering.

Sorry - but forget about Mike the Pipe, they've stopped trading due to ill health. Try talking to Adrian Venn at exactly TVR.

Zertec made the centre box for my 'M'. I sent then my old box, and back came a new, cutom built, stainless double cherry bomb. I'm sure that there are others.

I may be wrong here, but I'm sure I read recently that Mike the Pipe had changed ownership due to ill health, but was still trading.
