Bit of a long shot really. I have watched all my very early video's of the challenge back in the day and they have drawn a blank. Does anyone have an idea who this could be. He drove a Rover car number 44, on 16" OZ and either his first name or last name was Dereck

It could be Derek Tyndall. He raced a red TVR....back in the 1990's/early early 2000's I think. JR would probably be able to tell you.

There was a guy called Derek Stewart who raced TVRs in the late 90s. Went from MGs into it and came back for the odd MG race. Not a clue what his number or livery was though

Derek Tyndal had that big crash at Oulton in 2002 , hit the barrier at Deer Leap then hit the pit lane barrier - but car was No24 and and being 2002 ran 18" wheels.
Not sure if he raced an earlier in the 16" days.. If i can remember on I'll ask JR at weekend (Race Retro! biggrin )

On the TVR Tuscan Challenge 1989 - 2004 facebook page there is a picture of a programme with no 44 being driven by Andrew Purvis

Andrew Purvis was a quick driver by all accounts, in top five regularly in British GT year 2000 in a North Coventry Kawasaki LM 600 Marcos, quallied in front of a young Mr T Needell
