Only just seen this thread in here so thought I'd pop in to say I only met Colin a few times but he was always gracious.
I remember being alongside him in a just-released Tuscan Sp6 at Croft (HHC woud hire it a couple of times a year and he was there giving instruction / passenger rides) .. we'd been out just after lunch for a few quick laps and as we pulled back into the pits he said to me .. "I have no confidence in this chassis whatsoever". Then it was my turn. Thanks Colin. hehe

On another occasion at a track somewhere I also remember him saying quite often something along the lines of .. "don't worry we can trim that out on the tyre pressures" ... I got the impression he liked playing with tyre pressures ..

Nice guy. smile

Just stumbled on this thread, though I would share a few photos of Colin from his Starion racing days.

Good pics, he was one of the quickest in production saloons (group N) when the Starion first came out, see below:

He was often seen battling with Andy McLennan in the black Starion, they never lasted the distance in the 24 hr races (Willhire 24 hr Snetterton)
