The coverage has been shockingly bad to the point where I turned it off - the dubbing was put of sync, those two annoying commentators arging with each ther all the time, driver interviews too quiet to hear. Pathetic. I think I'm writing saying Sky have it next year so hopefully will see a big improvement
We were lucky to get any WRC coverage this year given the state of the tv rights! So who would you suggest commentates next year?Emeye said:

I thought ESPN did a good job of it in 2011. That Julian guy is good out on the stages interviewing the drivers and he was good as live commentator for ESPN on the power stage however the motors tv thing between him and the other guy just didn't work - they were so irratating together just nattering on and trying to prove each other wrong. Just tell us the information we need to know rather than dithering on about useless information!!! No flow to the Motors TV programme which didn't help the commentators in all fairness. For the 1st time in 10 years there will be no Petter Solberg in the championship.

That also means that on the rounds Loeb doesn't compete there will not ba a world champion entered.
I have to say I'm gutted that he won't be in the championship
Rumours are he's been offered a European rally cross drive. But nothing else in that so far.

Sad that he’s got no drive in the WRC. Whilst he’s had a disappointing season – he did show enough pace to continue in the WRC. But I applaud his stand about paying for a drive – he’s a former WRChampion. Let’s hope he finds suitable employment in a healthier series – whether that is RX, GRC, Circuit racing, etc

My thought too. Wherever he ends up, I will follow too.
As best as I can anyway.

It is a shame to see Petter go, however in the brave(ish) new world of next seasons WRC it will be good to see some new younger drivers coming through and taking the lead. Am a little suprised Hyundai didn't get him to come on board and help develop the new car. Shame, but still looking forward to 2013 and it's new driver combo's.
Desptite my recent slating of his performances im sad to see Petter wont be in the WRC next year, it will be weird not having him there. A year out might do him good though and maybe we will see him with one of the new teams in 2014, or doing a couple one off events towards the end of next year when the competative itch gets too much for him!
Following Petter between stages of the Wales Rally GB in 2002/2003 (I think) are some of the highlights of my childhood.
I've never seen a car move so quickly!
Also, someone will probably correct me, do I correctly recall Petter having to change a wheel between stages on the rally gb somewhere around 02/03? Probably near resolfen. He stopped in a car park opposite a pub. I remember a couple of lads walking across the road, pints in hand, to offer their assistance!

Looks good, but then everything looks fast when it isn't being timed. Loeb is doing the Monte, so they probably won't win anyway.
Ogier is as good as Loeb. Said it before, and I'll say it again - it appears to me Loeb is jumping ship before he starts to get beat by his only real challenger for some time!Only 4 rounds for me Loeb next year.
"Nine-time title winners Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena will contest four rounds of next year's FIA World Rally Championship with the Citroen Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team.
They will carry the number one on their Citroen DS3 WRC and will be nominated to score manufacturers’ championship points on their quartet of events, which will include Rallye Monte-Carlo, Rally Sweden, Rallye de France Alsace plus one further event to be announced.
Citroen has confirmed the coveted number one will not be used when Loeb and Elena are not in action.
“We’ll start the season in Monte-Carlo and we’ll also be competing in Sweden, because it’s a rally that I would love to win in normal racing conditions,” said Loeb, who triumphed there in 2004 albeit in slightly fortuitous circumstances. “And I couldn‘t begin to think about missing the Rallye de France.”
Mikko Hirvonen and co-driver Jarmo Lehtinen will contest all 13 rounds, while Dani Sordo and Carlos del Barrio will take part on at least 11 events and will be nominated for makes’ points when Loeb and Elena are not competing.
Khalid Al-Qassimi’s programme will begin on round two in Sweden and will consist of eight events alongside the Emirati’s Middle East campaign in a Citroen DS3 RRC."
I'm surprised he is doing Sweden!
