Wow, your copy of the Daily Mail is waiting to be collected at the newsagents.
Perhaps a book on English grammar and spelling is being given away free with it wink

Nice PR piece - but I think the reality is somewhat different.
Why do you think this?
CaterhamF1 are short on funding. Mike wouldn't of let Jarno be sacked if he had a choice.
But you could even see at the testing that all the team had Caterham patches sewn over the old Lotus Logos !

Tony F is sinking his spare cash into QPR at the moment and that's like a bottomless pit.

As i mentioned at the weekend, Petrov has not only brought his own cash to the team, he's also brought Sibur in as a sponsor.

They're going to sell a few Se7ens in that livery!
They already have!!

Thats actually my R500 in what was previously called the Team Lotus Colour Scheme.

Caterham cars asked me if they could borrow my car for this photo shoot, and as it was sat in the garage for the winter I thought why not!!

Its good to see my little car out on the circuit with the F1 car and the SP300 too.

Even though I say so myself it does look good out there!!

Quite proud of my little R500 now!!
Congrats - looks amazing. Some photos for the file!

Looks like JHS didn't avail himself of the same education as the guy he's berating (Epsom College then the London School of Economics).

I wonder who out of the two of them have done more for the UK.

C

..oh, wait. No, I don't wonder since it's obvious.

It's great they have this new owner.

Following on from the 7 what other old cars could they buy the tooling for a re- create with some modern upgrades?

Space frame mk2 escorts and Capri ?
Bmc mini cooper S
Elise when group lotus goes bust?
Would Honda let them build a dc2 or s2000 under licence?

Could a reproducer of long since deleted models make a profit or is the 7 the only model it works for?

That is a very good question and i'd say worthy of a topic on the main forum tbh.

But he proved he's capable of punting a car round a track at decent speeds, so it's not that much of a problem. Also Petrov doesn't seem the type to moan about the power steering FOR THE WHOLE BLOODY SEASON.

Jarno's a lovely chap - but as an F1 fan I'm glad he's been pushed out for new blood. Even if that's a very average driver with a very large wallet.

CaterhamF1 needed that money as their funding has dried up. Without Petrov they wouldn't have made this season. It's that simple.

I really hope that this doesn't all end up with Caterham Cars getting sucked into it as well.
