Yeah great finish, on the second to last restart I thought Brad was going to bin it, still not sure how he managed to keep hold of it.

I think after he won races last year he's grown up a bit and come in to his own.

I think part of the hate for JJ is he's too good - he won 5 years in a row, gets kinda boring. The Jnr fans also don't like him because they love Jnr and some see JJ as being in his way..

Penultimate race weekend in Phoenix, trucks ran last night, the race was red flagged for an accident, everyone ok.

Nationwide is live on MotorsTV at 8:30 tonight.
Cup green flag is 8:15pm Sunday, Kyle Busch has pole, Keselowski is 14th and Jimmie could only manage 24th.

Big fuss over the past couple of days with rumours that Harvick is to move to SHR in 2014. No-one will confirm or denoy the rumours.
We have a new team in cup running this weekend "Xxxtreme Motorsport", owned by a New York nightclub owner will have Reutimann in a Ford Fusion, they hope to run full time in 2013.

Pre-season test is 10-12 January at Daytona.

Fisticuffs is just funny, I expect Oprah to appear at any moment biggrin

Gordon is an asshat though, no need for that. Have to feel for Logano, he was just trying to stay out of the way and got pinned to the wall for it, given he looks about 12 he probably got his Dad to go fight the others guys hehe

everyone, but everyone should watch the last 45 minutes of that race! Just imagine the st if Gordon had taken Keselowski out with Logano, it was very close to that happenning.
Crazy crazy ending, bungled by officials for not pulling a caution when Patrick pulled out, hope she is ok btw, another GWC would have mixed it up even more. Lucky Brad got through, looks like he picked up the usual JJ good luck this week. Lets hope he can get it done next week.
Do you think the US grand prix will be as exciting? Imagine a mass bundle between Mclaren and Red Bull...maybe not.

I dunno, I can see Mark Webber punching someone. More likely to be Grosjean or Maldonado, but still...

Conduct unbecoming a multiple NASCAR Champion ? Gordon and Bowyer have history though , this type of retribution is considered to be acceptable , it seems that all the drivers apply these tactics .

Was Gordon assisted by his spotters and team chief or could he identify Bowyer at racing speed ?

Whilst accepting Danica was blameless in the initial spin, why did she stay on track when the car was leaking fluids all over the place? She was well before the pit entrance, unless the camera angle is deceiving? Rubbish officiating not to throw a yellow there as well.

I’m not condoning Gordon’s retaliation, he took out other drivers who had nothing to do with the dispute. However, I can understand Jeff’s anger. Bowyer cost Gordon a win at Martinsville in the Spring, then banged into him a couple of weeks ago at Martinsville. Bowyer may have not intentionally run into Jeff yesterday, but I can understand Jeff needing to make a stance and he had enough.

It was an ugly scene, but how many times has this happened – it won’t be the last time…

The way Gordon paid Bowyer back reminded me of Bristol in 2005 when Jarrett slowed to the inside to spin Newman out. one would think the spotter's have a role in that kind of stuff.

What punishment is likely ? Is solely levied on the driver or ,as suspected , if the whole team are complicit then all are punished ?

I`m certain that Bowyer will want to dish his own justice .

I suspect both teams will be docked points/fines handed out, potentially Gordon put on probation for this week in Homestead and some races in 2013. This is what usually happens, Kyle Busch and his brother Kurt have been suspended from races, but considering yesterday has happened so many times, I doubt suspensions will be issued.

My issue with Bowyer is his "ooops, sorry I hit you" kind of attitude. He says its not intentional, but Jeff has a limit and he won't take much nonsense. I like a fired up Gordon - just when people thought he was going soft... laugh

My main issue with yesterday wasn't the Bowyer/Gordon brawl, it was the finish. Debris which cannot be seen, caution; car sat in the middle of the track spewing fluid, no caution. Nice ending result, IndyCar Loudon anybody? rolleyes

Liked all the fans cheering when Jimmy went behind the wall, the bundle, and Bowyer sprinting (although not that fast) to the bundle!

Also found Keselowski’s "the sport was made on fights" comments amusing. Not sure it was said with the same irony of Stewart’s “we need more wrecks” after 'dega.hehe

That was Harvick, not Keselowski : http://www.cbssports.com/nascar/blog/eye-on-nascar...
Knowing Harvick he was just pissed he couldn't join in.

Brad was not impressed, especially as some people criticised him for racing hard in Texas: http://www.cbssports.com/nascar/blog/eye-on-nascar...

Gordon hit with only a 25 points reduction (he was out of contention for the title so worthless really) and a $100,000 fine and still allowed to race next weekend.....

That's because his surname is not Busch.

BK got a $25k fine for using a mobile phone in the car. Seems a bit harsh compared to £60 and 3 points that we get over here hehe

BK used his phone when Montoya hit the on track truck so Nascar banned everything electronic in the cars.

The fans are calling for blood next weekend.
