Hi, is there a way to buy the DVD?

My GF is Peter Warrs niece and would like to buy her a copy if possible.

Yes, you can buy the DVD.......when I've finished it, which unfortunately, won't be this side of Christmas. We feature Peter quite a lot in the TV programme, we filmed him at the place in France, he wanted to do the interview because the 72 was his favourite car. I always intended to go back and shoot some more about his career, alas, that was not to be.

Enjoyed that - thanks, except the final reel is blocked (copyright issues). Best quote "You don't come all the to Monaco to speak to men" - Stirling Moss.

Also can recommend 'Gentlemen Lift Your Skirts', based on Williams with Alan Jones.

I'd very much like to see this, please keep us updated.

Talking of Michael Oliver, it just reminded me to buy his Tales from the Toolbox book which I've just ordered this evening.
Cracking read and Michael is a great guy. He has been to our local owners' club to give talks on both the 49 and the 72. When I mentioned aspirations of an automotive journalistic bent he was very supportive.

Anyway tonight is the 72 film. Awesome!

Its another classic from the 1973 M23 Yardley Mclaren through to James Hunts M26 Texaco Marlboro incarnation or the original chassis, The M19 though was the basis for the M23 so you should have plenty background information for an hour long programe this time round wink

Indeed - depends on the budget! FYI I am already talking with someone who was at McLaren all through those years....expect some concrete news in the New Year.

Wish you well with the next project, love these kind of motor sport programes, very few on TV that get to the heart of the matter and speak to the people who were there at the time please keep us posted

To be honest, tyrrell, it IS difficult to get these programmes on air. For the Lotus 72 programme, I went to ESPN, Speed (U.S.), BBC, Sky F1 and finally Motors. None of them showed any interest in it apart from Motors. I self-produced the programme, so it was not as if I had a huge budget to buy in old film clips and stills.

Yes it's quite a niche market I would imagine, the M23 story would be brilliant to tell especially if you could piggy back off the James Hunt Nicki Lauda film Rush that is out next year, as there will be a lot of mainstream media coverage which should help your cause, my old boss you to say to me persistence is the key to success so I recon you will succeed.

Not a bad idea to try and tie it in with the release of 'Rush'. I've also heard there may be a Haynes Owners' Manual for the M23!

Watched the Lotus 72 film tonight. It was very good. I thought that Peter Warr's anecdotes were particularly enlightening.
