I liked John Miles' comments too. I hadn't seen him interviewed before.

We have a LOT more of the John Miles interview to include in the DVD. His explanation of 'anti-squat' and 'anti-dive' is worth the price of admission on its' own!

John Miles was at one of the speakers at Michael Oliver's Lotus Film Festival a couple of years ago. He worked for many years in OEM manufacturer vehicle development so is highly conversant in these things - interesting guy.

I enjoyed the film and look forward to the next one. McLaren M23, Tyrrell P34, Brabham BT44...the UK was producing some interesting cars in those days. I accept that McLaren may have been Kiwi and Brabham Australian, mind...

er......those Film Festivals (Jim Clark, Le Mans, Racing Lotus) were a collaboration between Michael and I!! I supplied the films to show and Mike & I did the rest between us! Glad you enjoyed it. You may have noticed me filming the weekend's events.....I've been too busy to edit together a dvd of it all.

Well I never! Just been back through the article I wrote at the time of the last one in 2010. Turns out I mention you by name, Gary. A couple of times. Must be my age - this is what happens when you hit 29!

Just in case you're interested, my feature is here: http://www.motorcardiaries.co.uk/2010/racing-lotus...

I enjoyed it but wanted to see some coverage from the later part of the cars history, when a number of other drivers were used, 1974 and 1975. By then it was becoming out dated but it would have completed the story.

Yes, fair comment, Mark. But it was getting difficult to get hold of people who drove the car latterly. John Watson was one (1 race), Brian Henton obviously and Jim Crawford, but he passed on before we got to him.
I am still looking into the possibility of going to the US in the New Year and filming an interview with Ronnie Peterson's mechanic, apparently he has a ton of good stories.

Orky (ronnies mechanic) lives in Orebro, Sweden. He does have tones of funny stories. I've had the nice job of driving ronnies 72 (75 model) around Sweden this year and he's popped down a few times to give talks.

Chassis R9, methinks. Classic Team Lotus also retain chassis R5, which was mainly Emerson's car from 1970 - 1973.
