OK, someone has illegally posted an off-air copy of the programme onto Youtube.
You can watch it only if you all promise to buy the DVD version afterwards!

erm.......yes..........but there's another R5 in their collection too..........
Ha! I was wondering whether the 'London lock-up' 72 had emerged from hibernation yet? You mentioned it during your talk to NYLOC. I'm endlessly fascinated by such things.
Also, recognising you expertise on the 49 as well...I saw what purported to be 49 R2 at the Abbaye Stavelot museum near Spa-Francorchamps in May. Who owns that car now? It looked to be in pure 1967 configuration.

It is a recreation, I was in constant communication with the guy who built it while he was doing so as I was in the middle of writing my Lotus 49 book at the time. It was me (confusingly not Lotus72, given his handle) who came up and gave the talk to NYLOC. I'm not entirely sure of the current owner, last time I heard, it was owned by Rodrigo Gallego. Do you mean it was still there this May? I'm surprised, as I thought Gallego would have moved it...
Regarding the London lock-up car, you have your answer! As far as I am aware, it is still owned by the same gentleman, who said he was too embarrassed with the state of the car to let me see it when I was writing my Lotus 72 book, to my great regret, although he did count a lot of rivets for me.
Freedman has succeeded where I failed - I am super-impressed/jealous. I would love to know the story behind how he got to see the car. I have sent him a message via PH so fingers crossed...

Is R5 the car CTL is currently putting back together?
There are two 72/5s! The car now generally referred to as 72/5-2 is one which was built up using salvageable parts from the car crashed by Fittipaldi in practice for the Dutch GP in 1973, and it took 72/5's chassis plate, almost certainly for customs carnet reasons. The original 72/5 was put in the stores at Hethel and remained there until last year, when it was resurrected. I have seen the way the original side skin has been pulled out - it is amazing what can be done with a lot of time and effort, which of course nobody within Team Lotus had in 1973.
I'm not sure quite how the issue of identity will be addressed - I haven't asked that question yet...
