So RG saying the suspension failed then he crashed, not seen any footage of him going through the right hander before the collision however, did the car break on him?

Also his coming together with Scott M, given how far in front Grosjean was at turn in, was it really his fault?

Well that was the first indy 500 we've watched start to finish. Think we now understand what all the fuss is about. The atmosphere must have been amazing trackside.
Plan to go next year if we can.
Come on over! If you fly in to Indy the flight path usually takes you close to the track. You get a good view from the RH side and it gives you a great idea of the scale of the place. I flew back in from Atlanta last week on a bright sunny day and it was a glorious sight.

The atmosphere at the race is incredible as long as you don’t mind all the jingoism and religion. “Back home again in Indiana” hadn’t been the same since Jim Nabors died. You just need a plan for getting in and out because the traffic is a nightmare!
I do a little consultancy work with a company in Noblesville IN from time to time so fly in from Orlando every 4 weeks or so and have been attending the 500 since 1987. It is a breathtaking event.

Like a washing machine spin cycle. Testament to safety standards he walked away and all the wheels remained attached too.

6 1/2 rollovers. Thankfully well-built cars that can dissipate energy well. Did he get launched from a kerb on the inside?

From a part of that clip it looks like he spun through 270° and arrived at the kerb sideways.

Scary looking and spectacular, but far safer to have an accident like this than a big impact into a wall or another car.

Crikey! yikes

Michael Andretti had a massive roll-over in 1998 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxNS1hPauLo

That corner at the end of the back straight is heavily camber and has acted as a launch pad.

Watching. Grosjean strikes again. Was a liability in F1, and has been in Indy.

Honestly I can't think of another driver that's as quick as Grosjean is, but crashes so much.

He’s a modern day Andrea de Cesaris

Though I’d say ADC was a typically quicker than Grosjean

Aww that was quite emotional seeing Lundgaard's best friend welling up, good drive, nice to see a different winner.
