Blimey I didn't realise at the time how serious it was. I read on Indycar twitter this morning that he was out of surgery and in intensive care, which I thought was strange. But now it's become apparent the severity of it, very lucky, excellent work by the safety and medical teams and wishing a speedy recovery for the 'Mayor of Hinchtown.'

This is like Imola 1994 , but in slow motion/time lapse.

If anything awful happens in this race ( and I hope to god it doesn't) there is going to be an awful lot of soul searching (and being USA lawsuits ) flying around.

Sure hope they actually know what they are doing here.

Having said that, someone over the barrier in Monaco has always been the unspoken nightmare, and we have come perilously close to that a few times too.

Indy500 always has the potential to be a very dangerous event and the 5 big accidents in the build up for this years race has to be a worry in case it happens in the pack on race day

I was open minded but judging from Hinch's shunt there's definitely a flaw with the aero package as his car was lifting at yaw.

With 90 minutes to go before the race it's a beautiful day here in Indianapolis. Temperatures expected to reach around 82 with a 0% chance of showers during the race although it may cloud over a little. It will be sunny and 80 about the time that I am firing up the barbie tonight. biggrin

Are their any links to available to watch the Indy 500 because I don't want to spend another £14.00 each month on top of the fortune I am currently paying to Sky?

Was wondering who she was too.

On a separate note, these cars look frighteningly quick passing the trackside cameras yikes

Got to be Kanaan or Dixon for the win, they seem so much quicker when they want to be.

The pit release that caused the accident was shockingly bad.
