Looking forward to Indy 500 qualifying this weekend.

Dixon running well, as he always seems to at this track. Along with Sato

Great to see Jimmie Johnson up there in the times too - whilst I don't think he has it for road and street courses, he could do well on the ovals.

Surprising to see the Andretti cars struggling so much - Herta, Grosjean, Rossi....maybe they are focusing on race setup?
Do you happen to know the times it's on Sky? I have a calendar subscription that shows me the start times of all the races but this weekend's entry is just a 2-day "whole day" event.

Except that's wrong according to the Sky EPG - W Series and the F1 Show on until 8pm. May well be on a Now stream, but not on the F1 channel.

Sato's speed was in the much faster last few minutes, Dixon was at the top from the start.

The Andretti cars have some of the best lap speeds when not in the draft, which is what you need for qualy. The cars are struggling to make pass moves this year so far, so qualy may be more important than outright race pace.

Boost gets turned up today, so we will see more accurately where everyone is after todays running.

Sky F1's EPG is fairly often incorrect. I'd be inclined to follow what their social media accounts saying personally.

I've found the same. I guess it's due to the variable duration of the F1 sessions (e.g. red flag stoppages).

18:05 confirmed by the TV guide on sky.com https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/20220521/4101-1

Yes, but if you look more closely, that is following F1 Qualifying and the F2 Sprint race on that guide, both of which are actually tomorrow…….

..that TV guide page ain’t right.

According to that we should be in the middle of F2 Sprint race.

If you select another day, then go back to it (by refreshing) it shows;

You've scrolled too far to the right and are into tomorrow.

Indycar qualifying 18:05 Saturday (after F1 quali and F2 sprint race)
Indycar qualifying 20:00 Sunday (after F1 race and W-series)

All the timing discussion, and delayed for pointless Notebook bks.

In the meantime, actual IndyCar track action being missed.

This isn't live, they have restarted from the beginning as the qualifying was brought forward 2 hours due to weather inbound later.

I did wonder as the programme started late and then was straight in with the first qualifying run which seemed like a bit of a coincidence

Yes, on the Indycar app it gives you a live leaderboard and car GPS around the track. There is around 4 hours left at the time of writing this, whereas the Sky coverage there is 6hrs and a bit left. Don't know if they are going to catch up, or if its not going to be live at all. I'd rather they just show the first runs then cut straight into live coverage.

That's an impressive run from Dixon, 233.5 mph average.

Pretty special. I’m not sure anyone else can top that.

My liking for Scott Dixon is in exact proportion to my dislike for Will Power, so am happy about that result.

Dixon has been fast from day 1. He looks favourite for pole.

There are some seriously well fed people in that pit lane. biggrin Quite the contrast to an F1 pit lane (apart from the FIA shirts who fill their boots too)
