Last chance Lydden.

Next year they're off to Silverstone.

Anyone going this weekend ?

Weather might be "changeable".

Yes, I am.

Was hoping to go for whole weekend, but have too much to do tomorrow, so only bought a ticket for Sunday.

Going to be an emotional trip, being the end of an era.

I've only missed attending one Euro/World RX event at Lydden since 1981............ cry

I'm camping tomorrow night, which could be interesting with the westher warning.

£25 for one night about the same as driving the 150 mile round trip to go home n back.

Look out for the silly Fiat, next to my tent, flying a Swedish flag.

What an ace weekend of WRX.

The PSRX Polos are so quick and look very difficult to beat now that they've had a 1-2 result.

The retro racing was interesting on Sunday ,a mini lost a wheel that ended up in the spectator enclosure ,luckily no one got hit by it,

wheel ended up in the trees behind spectators about 50 yards from my viewing point.

Then a 911 shed a rear suspension piece along with the wheel too and after that the rest of the classic car races were canned.

Dan Rooke got a 2nd in RX2 which was very good ,the winner Cyril Raymond is very hard to beat.

Andrew Jordan ,deputising for Timo Scheider got a place in the semis ,despite him not sitting in the car until Saturday morning.

Big downer was my flag was stolen from next to my tent in the campsite today....frown

I won't be going to Silverstone when they host this next year.

Watched this live was brilliant fun but I am a Solberg fan! I got to go to the British RX round a few weeks ago and immediately felt at home at Lydden, shame it's going to Silverstone, nothing but contempt for that venue.

Will be interesting to see how the VW's do next round, hopefully Solberg will be on it again to win at home or Bakkerud smile

I concluded quite early in the weekend that one of the PSRX Polos was going to win the final,as long as no bad luck came their way.

I hung around the paddock after the final for ages ,as the queue to get out the venue was huge and saw Matthias Ekstrom on his way out of Audi area, not looking too happy.

Ouch, I have just seen the prices for Silverstone next year, Earlybird Weekend Ticket £95, £125 on the gate, camping is even worse at £140 or £170 each.

That is double the cost of Lydden, I think I will be voting with my feet and staying at home!!

yikes

The place will be empty at those prices.

Sadly not surprised as I bet there's so few people at Sillystone that even has clue what Rallycross is, so it just band wagon jumping.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it back at Lydden within 3 years on that pricing base.

Just to echo what was said above, I had no intention of going anyway, absolutely definately not going now!!

There will never, ever be the market for Rally Cross at those prices. Simply ridiculous....when will these people ever learn? Only F1 and MotoGP could get away with those type of prices; none of the other series would dream of it. The BTCC is the most popular outside of those series, and they charge sensibly - even the WEC at Silverstone is decent value. This is utter madness.

I couldn't remember the reason it's moving to Silverstone ,so I looked it up.

Autosport online article just said that IMG tied up a deal with Silverstone to create a weekend motorsport festival ,

whatever TF that means.

I wonder if Pat Doran even spoke to the IMG people last weekend.

At least he looked to be enjoying his track outing in his 200.

The negativity towards Silverstone is insane and I agree with them, someone said "everyone is still coming down on the high from Lydden wishing it wasn't the last one and now salt has been poured on the wound", it was a spectacularly bad PR decision to release the prices now. The price of a day ticket is almost as much as the entire weekend camping and ferry I took when I went to Loheac last year which is just stupid.

I dislike Silverstone anyway as all the events I've gone to there have been souless and expensive, but I hope it doesn't damage World RX as it just starting to widen its fanbase.

This.....exactly this......couldn't agree more..

BTW ,anyone wanting a world RX round but not Silverstone ,Mettet in Belgium is closer to Calais than Loheac in France and is only

2.5 hours driving time.

I recommend going there ,I've been twice now.

Best thing to do is go to all of them wink As I said I did Loheac last year and it was an absolute blast! I think it's a good one to see as you can see pretty much the whole track from almost anywhere.

I'm going to Estering this year and can't wait it was the one with the Eriksson overtake from last year... https://youtu.be/vzXJwiWsvNE
