First post here in 9 months.

WRX has finally started , a double header in one weekend in Sweden , same next weekend in Finland.
Reduced qualifying to 3 runs instead of 4 , all done in the morning , then semis and final live on Freesporys channel 64 in the afternoon.
Johan Kristofferson back in the Polo to take back his WRX crown ?
Ekstrom also in an Audi , the fight is on ,mostly Swedes dominating with Marklund in a good Renault too.

The Ekstrom / Kristofferson battle is awesome.

Rallycross at Lydden this bank holiday weekend. Social distancing will be in place and pre booked tickets only . Paddock access will be very very limited .
It will be very interesting to see how it goes .
Pat Doran and his team have had a long long battle to get planning permission to develop the circuit and it's facilities along with circuit access .
I would love to see the place get back to something like its heady days of the past .
I for one don't need masses of off track distractions to keep me entertained just quick fire action out on the track . This is what the original TV audience required and Lydden became very adept at providing . Many of the meetings in the early days were later in the year so daylight hours were short and the organisers were on top form not only running a meeting but keeping up with a TV schedule .

I used to attend the British ERC round every year. Once FISA got involved and changed it to the circus that is WRC it became more expensive and less attractive, before finally relocating to Silverstone on a mickey mouse track. At which point I stopped attending.
would be great to see a resurgence in the British series after many years in the doldrums. we can only hope.

yes

I only missed two of the ERC rounds at Lydden between 1981 & the last WRX event there in 2017, plus went to all of the GP's at Brands, both Internations Cup at Croft in 87 and 90, and a handful of ERC events elsewhere at Mondello Park and a couple of times at Valkenswaard.

The great ERC days of the early 1980's were sadly long gone by the time of the WRX fiasco though.

I have only been to 2 Rallycross events, a British championship event at Mallory Park and the World Rally Cross at Silverstone. I enjoyed both, but preferred the event at Mallory Park.

Once again ace action and no disappointment from Finland WRX weekend double header.
A home win too for Niclas Gronholm under immense pressure from multiple world champions.
Next stop Latvia.
