He' a lovely chap as seen in this clip

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huT19lFIEF8

I've raced against him and seen his tantrums in the Lydden Hill paddock (when he was a kid) and he has still not grown up.

Shame because his dad is a great bloke (and great driver) and has done loads to help Rallycross get going again in the UK.

I watched him ram another on the slow down lap, hard enough to break the front corner of his ds3 just because he was aggrieved about something in the race. (Lydden)

It was always coming , with that fight instance really .

The temporarily ban back when pat's car caught fire was ridiculous, I was there and I know you should never go on a live track obviously but with your dad in a car on fire like that , senses sometimes go out the window .

But like you said having been this way since he was a kid it was always going to happen, its a shame as he was a good racer at one point but then seemed to change n get big for boots as it were

"I presented my case, with much support of others involved, [but] the MSA took full advantage and suspended my race license."
"I made apologies to those involved and obviously I know I messed up."
"It is really a shame that a non-racing event has in turn affected my racing career this way."

Yeah, the MSA "took full advantage". Because nutters getting into mass brawls in the paddock doesn't damage the sport AT ALL.

I'm really saddened.

How come Autoport can't spell "licence" properly?

Who was he originally brawling with ?

Looking at the video the big security guy scoops him up and moves him and he then goes to punch at the security guard.

People work long and hard to make their way into motorsport and he had it handed to him on a plate and inevitably messes up. I'm sure there are many more talented and professional people to replace him

water finds its level as they say.

spoiled little brat, aye Liam has talent but his gob is far too big and this has been coming for a while. he abuse he directed at the Lydden marshals at the RS200 incident was unreal, fact is that until you kill or the fire burns out the electrics the fuel keeps pumping. Pat Doran is a total gent, he must be totally ashamed of his lad

The ban was warranted, and in my opinion should have been longer. He was abusive to marshals and officials. His actions actually slowed the response down. If you are trying to do something, in this case put out a fire the last thing you need is somebody yelling and swearing at you.

I agree with this.

As others have said, I too can remember Doran juniors behaviour as a kid in the paddock etc., so its no surprise that the obnoxious spoilt brat kid has tuned into an obnoxious spoilt brat adult.

The WRX series is better off without him.

He's a thug, a bully, and a chav. Money can't buy you class.

He's always struck me as an un-sponsorable idiot. Such a shame, as he really can drive a car quickly. Sadly, any brand worth its salt would run a mile from him.

I was at the ring that day, idiot cost a lot of people several hours track time. Overheated brakes being reported at the time but it was at the end of start finish straight on gp circuit so there had been only 1 brake point in over a mile so not convinced by that.

It comes as a big shock to many drivers that any bad behaviour by anybody connected to a driver results in sanctions taken against the driver .
If family members or team members cause problems it's the driver that gets clobbered . Sometimes it's just being told to pack up and leave or worst case loss of licence and removal from championship.

One rumour/story I heard was that he came tanking down the pit straight chasing another car and apparently the car was heard still on the gas where it should've been hard on the brakes...
