Yes all to be taken down tonight. It's rained on and off today but will not get you wet just damp and fed up.

Busses were around and seemed to cope today. Let's see about Sunday.

Really looking forward to it this weekend - it's going to be the 5th year in a row for me.

Heading South tonight and visiting tomorrow. Was in two minds whether to take the Volvo shed or put boring motorway miles on the Porsche.

Hadn't thought of taking a bike. Volvo it is!

I never understand why people take their pride and joy and then leave it in a gravel car park for an entire day. If it's a spirited drive there and back then yes.

Sheds are pefect for race day visits, muddy boots wet clothing.

Sun is trying still might rain.

Exactly what i was thinking, plus I'd have to leave it in a hotel car park overnight. Not ideal when I don't even like driving it at night or in inclement weather.

If it was a nice drive down then maybe, but it's just 170 miles of motorway for me.

I have bought myself a nice set of FM Peltor ear defenders. Does anyone know if there is an FM broadcast?

I also have a scanner. Are there any frequencies worth finding?

Thanks

Just getting my stuff together for tomorrow, I have the TomTom loaded with a 50 mile b-road route so I think I'll take the Exige. I don't have a portable radio, will I be able to get Radio Le Mans on my phone?

Nobody seems to have a clue about the weather so I have brolly, boots, shades and suncream to cover all bases smile

Scanner wise, AFAIK all marshal radio is now digital at silverstone.

But circuit commentary is 87.7FM

The few places that had the "ear radios" (for my son) were stealing £10 for each one - buy a radio from Argos on the way...

By running Le Mans aero when Toyota are running sprint aero? Reliability aside, I'd expect Toyota to walk it as they may have some grip in 11C and heavy rain.

Great photos. I enjoyed it there yesterday, I watched quali from the entrance to Becketts, very impressive!

Bugger!

I'm ruing not attending this year. Not happy about Porsche running LM aero kit even though Audi have done it before and looked competitive. A lot closer than expected as I was Toyota to walk away with it in the changing conditions.

If it wasn't for McNish BT Sport's coverage would be unwatchable. Toby Moody makes mistakes after mistakes.

Good event. Enjoyed it. Feeling there might be a lot of empty track at Le Mans though.

Ah! I'm newish to WEC. I thought it would be the same field as Silverstone.

Why are all cars not used at each round then? I would have thought best chance of maximising points and gathering data.

Some Le Mans entrants will be doing the European (ELMS), American (IMSA) or Asian Le Mans series instead of the WEC.

Big teams like Corvette will always get an invite to Le Mans so can afford to concentrate their efforts (both racing and marketing) on their home market except for the one 'household name' race our branch of the sport has.

Labre wanted to run in GTE-Pro this year with the C7.R but I think they didn't have the budget (or a new car from Corvette Racing).

ELMS teams can run similar cars, but never leave Europe and run on different circuits and a smaller budget.
There is also track size/Start licences for circuits, and garage numbers. WEC has a set number of entrants, all season long and there are no local add ins.

Silverstone is the only event where ELMS and WEC run on the same weekend (Le Mans they are all entered as WEC)
