BBC report:

But they have this:

Sorry the picture doesn't show the caption but it say:

"Billy was driving a specially-adapted golf cart"

I'm sure Billy will find it funny but why can't the BBC get the basic right?
Because journalists.

He was driving a golf cart away from the circuit to get used to the hand controls, before going to the track in the Team Brit Fun Car

That lad is really proving to be quite an inspiration. Yes, he's had a lot of financial help and support but to be able to overcome his injuries, keep smiling and keep trying takes a lot more than money.

You have to admire the lad. Humbling to see such commitment.

I can see no reason why , given some support, that he shouldn't reach the top tiers of motorsport.
He has the character, spirit and fortitude to overcome anything .
Anybody that doubts our younger people show them this young man and the other young drivers that are showing such incredible support not just in racing but also in life .

Its a great story, I hope does make it back into Pro-racing and he can be an inspiration for many people (more than he already is)

Agree 100%. Wish most of the F1 drivers could be so positive...

Back in a specially adapted single seater with Carling Motorsport , the car has been cleared by the MSA and Billy as passed all the cockpit exit tests .
He is trying to raise all the sponsorship for a seasons racing.

Be great to be able to cheer him on at Oulton Park over the Easter weekend.

How much is a season's sponsorship?

Slightly surprised that a big brand looking to champion diversity/ability haven't stepped in.

I would say many of them are; Johnny Herbert, Martin Donnelly and of course Alex Zanardi spring to mind.
