BTCC - Round Three - Thruxton
Discussion
The Subaru was only chosen to exploit loopholes. Everyone involved has been around touring cars long enough to know that TOCA tends to change rules that give one car an advantage, changing the first gear ration on RWD cars and boost adjustments are two examples Plato was constantly complaining about when he felt someone else had a better car than him. The team really should have seen it coming.

Sutton yet again far quicker than Plato!
I usually fast forward through the F4, they are pretty dull to watch on TV but that race was fantastic!
It's a shame they haven't shown yesterday's F4 race. That was edge of the seat stuff as well.I usually fast forward through the F4, they are pretty dull to watch on TV but that race was fantastic!
F3 at Monza was a thriller. The FIA seem to be doing something for the lower formulae. Good on them.

You seem unsure of what the term "performance-balanced race series" means.
But how then do you explain the Subarus being given more boost for Thruxton?
I understand perfectly what performance balanced series means....doesn't mean I agree with it :-) But how then do you explain the Subarus being given more boost for Thruxton?
If the performance is so well balanced how do you explain suburus lack of performance even given the boost they have been given?
Lloyd not happy with the new barrier setup at Church. He is right - nowhere near enough run off straight into armco. Most cars will be doing 100mph+ around Church and if everything goes pear shaped, an off is going to hurt (at best). Better than the "launch ramp" we have seen over the last couple of years, but considering that over the last couple of years, many cars have left the circuit at church, it would make sense to have something a little bit softer to hit when a car inevitably leaves the circuit.
Harvey was wittering on about how the changes have made it better and cars won't be in the trees etc.. no, instead they get thrown in the air by the barrier - hardly an improvement.
I can see the track being dropped from the calendar and eventually it'll have a housing estate on it, they only have BTCC and BSB left now.
Shame for what is a great track.
I can't help but feel these cars are too fast for some of the drivers in them.

What about 70's style nets? Would work ok with drivers using hans now
Villenuve ? ok, not nets, but nets and single seaters doesn't sound like a great combination. If that barrier had been clad with tyres it wouldn't have been so big. You could go further with tecpro / SAFER
I'd need to see it again, but from what I saw it seemed in front of the barrier was just loose dirt rather than an actual gravel trap?
