We heard throughout the LeMans commentary this year that this is the last year of the Vantage being used as their GTE entry into WEC racing.

Prior to the Vantage, the base chassis was DB9. What's next ProDrive?

Dave Richards confirmed as much - said it was a nice swangsong for the old car and "lets see what next year brings for the new car" or something like that.

Not announced yet, but should be lairy, going by all of their past cars biggrin

The Vantage replacement I'm guessing. Have they announced the model name yet?

Not quite a swansong. Surely the 2018 GTE Am cars will still be the Vantage as they have to be a year old?

Correct, which means all the porsches will sound like the GTE pro cars did, SPLENDID. We all agreed that it sounded more like a ferrari than the ferrari did. Chatting with one of the mechanics after the race, they were very proud of their lairy little porker.

thought David Richards said (or maybe Simon Sproule) that there would be a new Vantage race car unveiled in about 3 months at same time as when the new road car unveiled.
